was the next Big thing from King Island until Gus lobbed at punt Rd. I realise he's done $%# all at Moorabin however he might just be ready to launch his career. If JB re-signs with the lions then move on this bloke...way ahead of Guy richards, leave Carlton to secure a partner for Ackland

I can remember Brooks playing one good game for St Kilda where he kick 5 goals but there must be a reason why they haven't used him much. Despite St Kilda's ruck problems they have preferred to use and keep Rix ahead of him, so that must tell us something.

Guy Richards looked like a good player early in his career but if I remember correctly he got injured and has never seemed to recapture his form. Of the two of them I would definately take the punt on Richards and hope that he can get back to best. Brookes has been around for ages and only played one decent game.

Tasmanians always have that chance of going wayward, we have been very lucky with some that we have gotten in the past ie: Roachy and Hart, but then there are the others who never do anything before getting delisted like Alex Gilmour, I think Brooks might be in the Gilmour boat, so lets not pick him up, plus he is going to be 24yo next year, I would rather see us take a punt on Watts if we can't entice Brennan, Watts was highly rated until he injured himself last year, give him a chance and see what happens.

You went way too early with Gilmour - he actually, had quite a bit of ability. Was worth keeping on your list then many that have been retained.

That is why he is killing it at another team right.:confused::confused:

I agree we got rid of him at least 1 year too early but it wasn't anything to do with his ability he was an idiot, just couldn't keep his head straight.

There's a difference between a guy who has potential and takes longer to develop. Eg: Drew Petrie/McIntosh and a total proven dud who looks worse and worse each time he plays.

St Kilda are desperate for rucks. Yet this guy still can't make the team. That says alot about him.

We're only looking for a ruckman for Coburg that can fill in when Simmonds is injured or Patto is injured/needing a spell. Personally would prefer to promote Graham than take either Brooks or Richards and then add another ruckman through the draft or rookie draft.

If we really must recycle a ruckman, I'd rather take a punt on Kepler Bradley in the PSD and try and turn him into a ruckman than bother with Brooks or Richards (though I think Bradley will go in the national draft). Not that I have any reason for thinking Bradley could be a ruckman, other than being 199cm. But he has a little more potential than the other two as a player. As I said, promoting Graham and drafting another young ruckman is our best option.

agreed, KB does have some raw ability although is a little like JON in found wanting with the decion making
