The shadows around the Baghdad Bombers training compound look darker, the bombings in the city have become more frequent and the effigies are being burned at a rate that scientists say is likely to quicken the global warming process by 48 years. This is the result of Baghdad’s favourite son @beez’s decision to leave the club he claimed he loved lying on life support.
Bombers captain Gee Dub was initially unwilling to comment on the situation that has left the team without arguably its best ever poster, along with the loss of other key members of the team from last season okeydoke7 and Bipolarbear. However today he issued a brief statement from outside beez’s former home.
“The Baghdad Bombers are very disappointed to lose a player of such quality. He was an important member of the team and he has left us in a very tough spot, so close to the team submission deadline. However I am not surprised as this is not the first time beez has left me in a tough position. Last season he recruited two troublemakers in The Jet and Big Moose and then when he started to receive a backlash from the playing group and the rest of the league he cut his losses and ran away, leaving me to rescue the club. Now he has left us after a disappointing off season in which we have lost key personnel and only gained two young but promising recruits. It smacks of selfishness and disrespect from the former captain. I’m actually very disappointed that I hooked him up with my sister and let him live in my basement. “
When asked what the Bombers’ plans were now Gee Dub stated, “We are in the mix for a couple of experienced players including Deddy and hope that they will see what a wonderful club we have here. We are also continuing talks with a number of rookies from other areas.”
In other Baghdad news, the Abdu Prison has suffered extensive damage and is unlikely to be ready for the start of the pre season after vandals caused extensive damage. Witnesses reportedly saw a small red vehicle with the number plate “Bngwtk” parked outside the venue around 6pm tonight and soon after this a number of the grounds light towers and the changing sheds were alight with flames. The vandals also burned the words “beez sucks” and “Beng for full forward” on the eastern wing.
