When somebody mentioned video shops in another thread, it reminded of me of the time, about 6 months ago, when I was stalked on the way home from the video shop.

As far as I can recall, this old bloke offered me his lighter, then asked if I would like a coffee with him. I turned him down, told him I was on my way home, in a hurry. So he followed me over to the bench to wait for the tram, and offered me a ride home. I turned him down. Then while waiting for the tram, he started massaging me  . At this point I was pretty freaked out. Tram came, I got on, and thought I was safe. He got on as well. Lucky I grabbed a seat amongst a bunch of De La Salle kids, so he couldn't sit near me. Just kept looking at me. I got off at an early stop so he didn't know where I lived, he got off as well, so I bolted through the streets trying to lose him. I was bloody shaking by then.

I forgot to mention he asked for my phone number.

Any similar stories from the Bigfooty folk?

My first ex husband had a few scares, one time he was hitch hiking a guy picked him up & put the hard word on him, he jumped out at the next set of lights, another time he was walking home & this car started following him, guy asked if he wanted a lift, he said no he was almost home, guy kept following him, so my ex ran around the corner & jumped over someones hedge & hid in the front yard until the car was well out of view.

I would be too. Remember that episode of CSI we watched last week? The one with the guy who lived in people's roofs?

Are you safe? ;)

I'm safe, I have Kenny. :D

Girlfriend was a few weeks ago, she was in a night club with friends when a guy tried to grab her. She walked off quickly but he kept following her, then she lost him before running into him again where he again tried to grab her.
She ran outside and he followed. She then ran towards the taxi rank and got into the taxi and came over to see me for comfort

That's a freaky story. I haven't been stalked before, luckily.

It's funny, you'd never really think that a guy would stalk another guy, but it obviously happens. I was always naive and thought that people stalked people of the opposite sex, most commonly a guy stalking a girl. But, it's only logical that if someone is attracted to the same sex and inclined to stalking, they'll stalk the same sex.

Hope you never meet him again Daics!

last year i was in Europe, we were somewhere in Italy at the time and me and mum were looking for somewhere to eat lunch...
i was walking a little but behind her and i noticed this guy watching me.. he was young, probably my age or a little older, so i just smiled at him, it's not that weird to have guy looking at you...
and then he winked at me! and i'm like, ok now it's getting alittle freaky... so i went to catch up with mum... and he stood up and started following.. from a distance of course... then mum went into a shop and told me to go and find somewhere for us to sit, but this guy was still following and by this time i was really freaked out, it wasn't as if he was just walking in that direction, whenever we went in somewhere he'd stop at the shop a few doors down and just wait...
i figured i was safe with mum there, so i waited with her, altho she didn't understand why...
we went back to meet my sis and dad who were already sitting down, but i still didn't ahve any lunch.. and the guy was still close by and watching... so i asked to dad to come with me.. and we walked STRAIGHT past him... and i think he stopped following me then... all i can say is i'm glad dad was there...

Harassing phone calls
Nasty and threatening emails
Having someone sit outside my house and watch my every move
Explicit messages left with the receptionist at work
Name calling
Being screamed and shouted at in public
If you class that as stalking, then yes, I've been stalked. And it was done by a woman, not a man.

Geez, anyone would think I'd done something to upset her.

In 1999 I went on a school trip to New Caledonia. We went to this island with a lighthouse, Amedee I think it was called on a day tour.

Anyways, me and a friend were walking around the beach and this old guy with a camera came up to us asking if he could take some photographs of us. We figured there was no harm in it, so we agreed and he took a few snaps. Then he asked my friend for her address so he could send her copies of the photos. She decided that mightn't be the smartest idea so she just gave him a fake address.

Not exactly stalking, but an uncomfortable and weird situation nonetheless.

The old p**** next door sits near his window and watches when either me or me family go out. The he follows us down the street, using his dog as an excuse. He goes up the top and stands there, waiting for small kids who walk home from school. He used to just come onto our property and touch our bins and letterbox untill my mum called the cops who warned him that if he did it again he would be arrested. And when the delivery guy came we saw a finger move the blinds across in his place. He was looking to see who it was. Nosy p****

And extremley dangerous.

Daics, you weren't actually stalked, you were followed and it is still creepy and disconcerting.

See Bee's post on what stalking really is.

I have been victim of it on two seperate occaisions and it isn't nice.

why did you do that?! DOH!

oh i have had a experience.. Once i was on a plane from Hong Kong back to Melbourne and on that plane i was sitting along the the middle section and too my left on the other section there was a man. So, during the flight home this dude sat there staring at me and my brother... At first we didn't think much, we thought he was just looking our way.. So we are in the flight by 1-2 hours and this dude constantly keeps staring at us... he wasn't just sitting there turning his head towards us, he was sitting high on his chair having his whole body facing towards us. So then i though, geez.. this guy is a ****ing ********... maybe i should tell him to **** off! but i didn't... so then.. throughout the flight he still stared at us constantly and i really felt scared. I knew this guy was some kind of a wierdo stalker because during the night i feel a sleep and when i looked at his direction (bad mistake) HE WAS LOOKING AT ME!!!!!!!!!!

*FREAK*

okay, at this point i was going to snap this dude, btw he looked around 40... i was also tempted to call the flight attendent and get him moved, but decided against it because he didn't threaten me. So when he landed we all got off and this guy was behind us. We decided to walk in a direction different to others just to test this guy, but he was behind us... i then went to the toilet whilst my brother went in a different direction and we planned to meet somewhere... so this dude follows me into a crowded toilet and i line up to take a ****a. This stalker was in the line next to mine and i quickly took a ****, then i grabbed my bag and ran out to meet my brother. When we meet he didn't come out, so we ran to immigration and left. Never to see him again... WOOHOO!!

well.. thats the closests some freako has ever stalked me.

Guess it isn't really stalking, but a few weeks back I came home early from work & found that someone had been in my house & used my computer, had a shower & even used my toothbrush.

Needless to say I have put a password on my computer & had my locks changed. OH & I bought a new toothbrush. :D

I think i can top that in the wierdness stakes. And ex of mine was sunbathing on her front verandah.. She feels a shadow, looks up, and there's some freaky looking old bloke just standing on her verandah looking at her. So she says 'um, hi..'
he just looks at her for a while longer, and says 'i'll remember you.' and walks off. Freaky, neh?

Not stalked, but followed....
Last year I was in the Maldives, and staying at a resort. Anyway this one guy cleaned our rooms everyday, and one day when I got back to our rooms, I didn't know he was still in there, and I walked on him looking in my bag . He said he was just looking for something he dropped so I sort of got over it, but he was there every morning when I woke up... and would look at me and my cousin in really weird ways. One night on our way back from dinner he kept close to us as we walked home until we really had to tell him to get lost. Sort of ruined the trip because everywhere we went, he was there, watching!
