Others will probably put it better than I, but it's a lack of grunt, hard work and size in the middle, combined with a lack of intensity...

Other clubs have bigger bodies, who aren't afraid to commit to the contest. We are physically and mentally fragile.

We have too many of the same sort of player. Eagle, Ray, Power, McMahon, etc...

Our midfield (well, centre square) lacks variety. West and Cross are quite similar and not damaging by foot.

It all starts from the lack of desire for the contest....

Very impressive descriptions

beltings, shellackings, demolitions, canings, smashings, welts, beatings, routs, floggings, thumpings, smackings

I agree though, the fact that we get (insert any of the aforementioned descriptions) on a consistent basis is a real worry and should be addressed.

One of my mates (who supports another club) said to me during the year that our obsession with milestone games is unhealthy and more than likely would lead to some form of "drop off" in other games over the year. Thought he was talking garbage at the time but maybe there is some substance to it after looking at those stats.

4 thumpings in 97 n we missed the granny by 2 points.

Interesting that one. We played on raw emotion that year. Had to be swtiched on or we weren't too good. E.g. last quarter of the prelim.

North seem to be playing off raw angst from last years efforts - have also copped a few beltings from good sides this year. Wonder how far they go.

I'd imagine our average losing margin is worse this year than in the Rohde years. We lost a number of close ones under Rohde -- remember all that 'best bottom team ever' rubbish.

We are a long way behind going into next year. :(
