Hey guys, have just got my hands on my debit card and am about to make the big step from play money to real money, only I'm not sure which site to go through.

I'm kind of tossing up between Full Tilt and Absolute Poker. Full Tilt I guess just because of the pros associated with it maybe giving it the capacity to hold better tournaments or something (okay crap reason, but you know what I mean) and Absolute just because it's where I play at the moment and I guess I like the layout and seem to have better games there.

Anywho, I'm not particularly attached to either of them so any opinions or advice would be appreciated. I play mainly NL Hold 'Em and would probably play mostly Sit n Gos so I'm looking at stuff like quality of tournaments, deposit bonuses, other bonuses, and how easy it is to win money (i.e. the amount of crap players).

Also pretty desperate to have a crack at an Aussie Millions seat, not that this would be a core requirement, I'd just be interested to know which sites would allow this.

Thanks in advance.

While we're on the subject of sites, when I open Pokerchamps I get the message that "bets from your country of residence are not accepted"...anyone else have this problem?

Anyway interested to see how this thread pans out as I need a new site :)

I've used Ultimate Bet and Party Poker.
I like Ultimate Bet but the traffic has dropped to the point where it is hard to get a game.

For large amounts of players I reckon Party Poker is still pretty good. The level of competition is absolutely chit house.

You can withdraw via Bpay which is very handy so I would go Party.

I would pick a poker site more on the functionality it provides, such as account management functions, some of the sports bet sites (the well established ones) are pretty good in this area...After all it's your money that your putting into their account.

Also the stabilty and availablity of the S/W....

As far as crap players and bonus rewards, they are pretty much the same which ever one use choose.

I did my nut at pokerstars recently, the amount of calls I had, disregarding any common sense, pot odds etc etc, that were paid off became beyond belief.

And when I'd fold the same sort of gutshot draw, runner runner, bottom pair calling to make two, or trips, i kid you not, it would hit. It was as if I was being encouraged to play like a donk.
I had to cash out, or it was about to cost me more $$ in a new laptop.

I'm playing Pokerstars at the moment and I think it's great. Love the way you can make the table fill your whole screen. The number of players I've seen on the site has been 100,000+ at busy times and about 30,000+ during quiet times. They have a large range of sit n gos and MTT's. Defo worth a having an account there.

Agree, table enlargement is good....accessing cash not so good...Lots of players, sometimes too many I can never click on a SNG quick enough ;)

Yeah I agree, I believe you have to get a cheque sent out or something ?? I'm still waiting on a cheque from UB and that was quite a while ago - very frustrating. Party Poker would have to be the best for cashing out, I've cashed out twice and both times the cash has been in my account 2-3 days later.

Withdraw onto credit, then withrdaw as cash....too easy...but the availabilty of Poker Stars S/W is appealing, I never have a problem with it.
