Check this out from the season launch, apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

A Dr Seuss quoting coach in AFL, damn the Bulldogs are cool.

I am interested in hearing others opinions with regards to the criticism of the players that he alludes to in this speech??

I rather think a lot commentators have missed the point and/or essence of this particular Bulldogs team. I'd hazard a guess that Bevo is alluding to commentary suggesting that that we got lucky with the way last year's final series was structured and the innuendo surrounding our hand-balling and that if both or either one of those factors were different we wouldn't have won. Consequently most are predicting that GWS will win as we won't get lucky again with the finals draw/timetable and the umps will find a way of negating our hand-balling prowess because enough people are making enough noise about it.
Bevo sees it differently as do most of us. Don't have a problem with our hand-balling (we're just better at it and more creative) and we had more than our share of injuries last year, had to play away all time and won anyway. Bevo believes, as do I, that this particular team will find a way to win regardless of the circumstances (and by win I mean at the pointy end as almost everyone drops a game or two through the season). Finding a way is in the DNA of this particular team. They are totally committed to a man to the team and to each other and that makes the difference. Bevo knows it, others don't want to acknowledge it and he takes some offence to that on behalf of his charges.

Bevo also thought we would win it all the year before last when we choked against the Cows. He would view the detractors as fools.
I am starting to think we could have too, no shit. Stringer at 100%. Murph's daisy cutters. Why the feck not? I'm not saying Michael Talia is to blame, but.....he cost us another flag that flog.

Mind you the karma bus has seriously taken him from behind since.

No doubt whatsoever that Bevo thought we could win in 2015. But we were not quite ready, bad luck for Bob
Easy to say that we were not quite ready, but had Taliagate not happened and we won the EF, who bloody knows what would have happened. Everyone was writing us off this year as well and it happened, so no real way to rule it out of the realms of reality for 2015 had we beaten the Crows.

I agree with the sentiment, but I don't think we were good enough in 2015. We were a very, very different side back then: better offensively but much, much, much worse defensively, and it was the change in the latter that made us premiers.
