The upcoming Sydney game looks to be an interesting one in that if we win I think we're a lock for top 2 and a direct path into the GF. The season is so even I've been reluctant to call it but the swans are one of our main competitors for a top 2 spot so its an 8 point game so to speak and I cant see us missing top 2 and a likely GF birth bar major injuries with a win. Thoughts?

Like your thoughts Bigfootys.....I'm grappling with thoughts of buying flights from Perth for the GF at the moment...
Tonight's result was a good one for us. Unsure if beating Sydney will make a difference to our ladder position at the end of the season, but, for sure, it'll give the boys a good mindset & belief....Hopefully then smack Collingwood at the MCG. That one is a biggie for me, but not necessarily huge as long as we turn up and not roll over.
(If we win plane flights from Perth to Melb for GF will go up a zillion $ then).
We're playing a great style of footy ATM though, a bit of 2015 about it regarding confidence & momentum, but with more depth in the squad (Ryan, Shuey Petro, Ainsworth, Schofield et al). I'm backing Simmo & the boys.

It won’t be the end of the world if we lose, but it would really be a massive help in getting that top 2 spot sewn up.

Our biggest test this year. We hopefully will be freshened up after a tough month of footy. Talking about mental hurdles, if we can take our system over to the SCG (where we haven’t won this century) and win I think the belief in what we can achieve this year will go through the roof.

I think we also need to get away from this sentiment that finishing top 2 is an automatic GF spot as well I think. Can only have to look back to our last home final to see what can happen when we think it’s just going to happen because it’s here in Perth. There’s no certainties in footy.

Things can change very quickly. A win at the SCG would be historical, but it's just another 4 points and every other game is as vital. Best take it week-by-week, focus on continuous improvement and see where that gets us.

...from a whopping total of 6 games in that time. We have just one win and one draw from 11 games in Geelong over the same period, so it's probably not even our worst ground
