Something different, and perhaps one for the collectors. Was trawling for Pies jumpers and this came to me recently – a reminder of how different the 2010 Collingwood designs were on the back between the PI and the retail. On PI's the stripes were cut off by the Adidas curve motif, but on retails, the stripes were lopped off by their own weird inverse curve, with the back sponsor plonked in the middle. It looked horrible.
Most of the time, differences between PIs and retails were limited to changes in material or collars. The Nike neckbar of the mid-2000s was left off Carlton and Port Adelaide retails, while early Russell Athletic neckbars never seemed to be replicated either.
Can you think of any other notable differences? The gap seems to have closed in recent years, but there were certainly some choices in the 2000s.
