There is a new tv show called Boston Public, made by creator of "Ally McBeal" and "The Practice,".

David E. Kelley takes on the personal and professional lives of a group of Boston secondary school educators.

Can any of u yanks out there know if this show is any good?

Mags,

Just saw your post. 'Boston Public' is one of my favourite TV shows. As a teacher, I found some of the interpersonal relationships between teachers very "interesting"! If only the colleges I taught in while in Melbourne would have been so dramatic, I might never have retired! I can't really say if the situations are realistic since I've never taught in an American inner-city school, but David E. Kelly has another winner on his hands. BP was one of the highest rating programs on FOX. If you like David E. Kelly's style, you'll really like BP. We're in summer reruns here and the program is going through it's third airing since it's debut last October.

And Grendel, Fyvush Finkel, the Jewish lawyer from 'Picket Fences', is one of the teachers on BP. He's hilarious!:D He's an American History teacher - one of the subjects I developed at my Melbourne college! I hope my former students don't recognise ANY comparison between the two of us! ;) :D

Another program which premiered last season, 'CSI', is another I'd recommend. It's about a forensic science team which is part of the Las Vegas police department. It was another runaway hit last season. Some of the visuals are superb for a TV series. I guess I really like it, too, because I LOVE Las Vegas! I'm making my sixth visit there since I returned to the states last year. It's a late September birthday present to myself. I'm a Gold Pass member at Circus Circus and get free accommodation and meals. This trip they're putting my brother and me up for three nights with $75 cashback. Considering the airfare was only $165 return from Indianapolis (close to my brother's home) how could I refuse?;) I just hope I don't lose too much there! My biggest win on the slots (pokies) was $1200 (A$2400) at the Las Vegas airport twenty minutes before my flight was scheduled to return home! It made up for the losses for the week! Heck, it's my ONLY vice! LOL :D
