Tis a week of fun so to get things moving along I’ve quickly re-scripted a scene from the movie Braveheart to match Geelongs season. Hope you enjoy it.

William Wallace.................. played by Mark ‘bomber’ Thompson.

Hamish (Wallace’s friend)..... played by Cam Mooney.

Robert the Bruce................ played by Joffa.

Bruce’s father.................... played by Eddie McGuire.

The Nobles........................ played by the doubters of Geelongs 2007 season thus far.

Narrator............................ spoken by Kevin Sheedy

(Thompson marches in the door.)

Thompson:
My army has marched for more days than I can remember, and we still have preparations to make. So I'll make this plain. We require every barracker you can summon. Your personal escorts, even yourselves. And we need them now.

Doubter No1: With such a force arrayed against you, it is time to discuss other
options.

Thompson: Other options? Don't you wish at least to help lead our men onto
the field rather than see Port Adelaide run over us before you tuck tail and run?

Joffa: Sir Thompson.

Doubter No2: You cannot defeat this army.

Thompson: We can.

Joffa: Sir Thompson.

Thompson: And we will. We won the minor premiership, and still you quibble. We won our two finals, and you would not support us. If you will not stand up with us now then I say you're cowards.

(Doubter No3 stands and draws his sword, but Cam Mooney crashes his battle axe down on the table, shocking the other doubters into silence.)

Thompson: And if you are true Victorian, I am ashamed to call myself one.

Joffa: Please, Sir Thompson. Speak with me alone. I beg you.

(Thompson and Joffa walk away from the table together.)

Joffa: Now you've achieved more than anyone ever dreamed, but
fighting these odds it looks like rage, not courage.

Thompson: It's well beyond rage. Help me. In the name of Christ help
yourselves. Now is our chance, now. If we join, we can win. If we win, well then we'll both have what none of us have ever had before: us a premiership and you....well probably not a lot but at least you can tease Port fans for the next twelve months. You are the rightful leader, and there is strength in you. I see it. Unite us. Unite us. Unite the clans.

(Both Joffa and Thompson shake hands)

Thompson: Alright?

Joffa: Right.
__________________________________________________________

(Later, Joffa is talking with his treacherous father Eddie McGuire)

Joffa: This cannot be the way.

McGuire: You said yourself; the doubters will not support Thompson. So how does it help us to join the side that is slaughtered?

Joffa: I gave him my word.

McGuire: I know it is hard. Being a leader is. Now son, son, look at me.
I cannot be king forever. You and you alone can rule Collingwood. What I tell you, you must do. Not for me, not for yourself, but for Collingwood.

Camera fades to black. Next scene is a desolate MCG with Kevin Sheedy narrating.

"In the year of our Lord 2007, patriots of Geelong, starving and outnumbered, charged the fields of the MCG. They fought like warrior poets. They fought like pivitonians. ..............
And they won their premiership."

Well done Stevo ,nice work.

I am thinking that the closest movie to what I am going to be feeling like is plain and simple. American pie.
"Whats it going to feel like , Like warm Apple pie"

I just hope the pie won't be straight from the Victory oven, or else you're gonna have a very overdone meat & two veg! Give the Victory time to cool down (with a slab of frothies!) before ya go sticking it in and shaking all about:D
