Brett Lee

It's funny, but I don't see anyone bagging Bichel for his exuberance when he takes a wicket. Lee must be a better target for some.

Bloody hell, for years people have whinged about cricketers for being boring, having no flair, no passion yet now you have players showing emotions and still people criticise. Can't please some, I guess.

Why does he insist on acting like a ****er when he takes a wicket?

There's nothing wrong with what Brett Lee is doing after taking a wicket. He is bowling extremely well and is enjoying his cricket, that's the most important thing. I think it's good to see sports people enjoying what they do, (Lleyton Hewitt is also a good example of this in tennis) and why wouldn't you enjoy it when you produce a ball such as the one which bowled the in-form Marvin Atapattu last night!! :D

I'd rather Lee do the lawnmower than give a batsman a spray as other bowlers do.
He is exuberant - so what.
Brad Hogg's exuberant, no one bags him - because he's a curiosity.
Andy Bichel's exuberant, no one bags him - because he's a good guy who doesn't always get a game.
Brett Lee's exuberant, but he gets bagged - because he's got a talent few others have and we're jealous.
Go Brett.

He's a gun .. and developing more variety. The combination of Lee, McGrath and Gillespee is stunning. It's up there with Roberts Holding and Garner, and Lillee Thompson and Walker. Except now we can add a decent wrist spinner or two. .. and a keeper with a 50+ batting average at no.7.

Anybody notice that if Brett Lee takes 4 wickets in the final he will be the highest wicket taker in the world cup!

So all you Brett Lee haters can just chew on that for awhile!!

I've noticed the Brett Lee haters have gone strangely quiet over the past few months, and not without reason.

He would be the highest wicket taker in any World Cup. And he didn't play against one of the minnows either (for memory, it was against Netherlands he didn't play). Vass picked up most his wickets against the weaker sides.

LOL Like the Bichel , Symonds & Bevo Haters.
I had reservations about Blee but he must be on the same fertiliser that Simmo is on. He is getting better and better (like Simmo).

We are indeed blessed to have such a good team. The only downside is that we end up with egg on our collective faces when we criticize. ;)

I love your tag R46!:D

Two players I am not sure about in the team:

Damien Martyn - I know he has scored some runs but when was the last time he produced an innings of substantial note that turned the game when we needed it? He is there to cover for Mark Waugh but isn't doing the same job.

Darren Lehman - I like the guy and don't think he was given enough of a go when he was younger. Saying that though he always seems to go out when he gets to about the mid 30's. He's there to replace Steve Waugh.

I am NOT bagging out on these guys as they are both talented and honest but I do want them to stand up a little more when we need them!

I tend to agree - he's not a convincing No 4 ( in the tradition of Mark Waugh and Greg Chappell ) and the position's still up for grabs. Hopefully that sort of competition for positions keeps the team vigorous and exciting.

I noticed the same thing! Still, Lehmann's position in the side is safe for at least another year.
