Thai Restaurants in CBD - Suggestions?

I'm booking a work lunch next week. Can anyone recommend something in the CBD (or in Carlton/Richmond). What we are looking for is:

  1. Booking for 12
  2. Thai
  3. Accepts Major Credit Cards
  4. BYO Wine and Beer
  5. No corkage charge

I know this is a lot to ask but it's a request from the Boss who is busting our balls over this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Whoooooooo is your boss? Is it true you work for Brett Burton? In any case, exciting times ahead for your workplace :)

PS: try "Suit and Thai"

Thy Thy and Thy Thy 2 are Melbourne institutions. Both are cheap, BYO and serve great food. A cross between Thai/Vietnamese/Chinese, you'll get what you want.

Thy Thy 2 is slightly more upmarket (don't expect the Flowerdrum though, 'cause you're not going to get it!), still dirt cheap and tidy meals. Give that a bash.

The boss sounds like a major tight arse.

BTW - Thy Thy is Vietnamese and in Victoria St, Richmond.

Stuff the boss, tell him it's all sorted and to bring his/her card along. Book the table for 12 at Vlados.

Nothing on the menu to resemble Thai food, but the look on his face when he gets the bill will be priceless.

Palm Sugar goes alright. Surprisingly big and popular place.

Not sure about BYO/corkage etc, but if it is on a card who cares. Someone along line will just write it off as a business expense
