Just a query if anyone knows how it happens- I was sitting behind the bench and saw McGrath come on after Clark had come off, and he kind of looked back at the bench while someone was yelling at him as he ran on.
I can't work out for the life of me why it happened! All I can say is that maybe Clark didn't exit through the gates when he rolled himself off the game? If so I think that's taking the rule a bit far! But if anyone knows exactly please shed some light

As far as I could tell, that's exactly what happened. I think Clarke may have been taken around outside the boundary and down the race, rather than gone off through the interchange gate.

On one hand, I agree that it was an over the top call. On the other hand, I say it was damn naive and stupid on Brisbane's behalf. It's not that uncommon for a guy to be carried off a ground, and somehow miraculously re-appear 20 minutes later. Now if somehow Clarke had re-appeared later in the game and had an influence, then this would be a big issue, and we on here probably wouldn't be happy about it.

Yeah I understand that- Clark actually rolled himself off as opposed to being taken off by the Medicos who would have taken him through the right area- it was actually still very close to the bench so would have negated any strategical influence- but still wrong as far as the letter of the law.

Just put it down to another McGrath blunder then?

It was pretty harsh. but as Clark rolled off the ground in agony he rolled just to the right of the interchange gate. technically he should of limped back on then exited one metre to the left. I jokingly said it at the time but didn't expect him to get pinged for it.

My only problem with it was the timing of the free kick and 50m penalty.
Why did they wait until after the goal was kicked when clearly Clark was replaced before the goal was kicked.

Lol, pay that.

At worst, it kinda makes up for that Bris free kick against Edwards for getting himself whacked behind play - silly error by Edwards, wtf was he thinking
