I'm surprised Americans would know who Joseph Stalin was...I was in Atlanta shortly before the 96 Olympics, and found that the people were all friendly, but had absolutely no sense of humour whatever when I told them that the most famous Georgian of all time was Joseph Stalin.

Don't get me wrong I like Americans and love the place. Its just that every state has a place named after somewhere overseas, like Melbourne Florida, Birmingham, Lebanon, Paris, Palestine and Geelong. And some Americans think the "real" places are named after their towns.Contrary to popular belief, we do teach international history in our schools. It's the retention that's the issue...
