Could any Dockers supporters please give me an indication of how Byron Schammer is going at Freo.
I understand he was close to a match on the weekend, did he play?
What have his performances been like with his WAFL club. Who does he play for.
Any other info about the former Loxtonite would be helpful.
Thanks,
Rob.

I saw him play in the Sth Freo - Claremont game for a few moments and one thing that stuck with me is his pace over the 1st 5 - 8 metres !!!!! He made blokes seem like they were standing still !!!

MC Schammer was B.O.G. for Claremont for the second time in as many weeks in the Tigers' demolition of Peel yesterday. Kicked a goal. Looks very much the goods. Clive kicked a couple too.

He looked the goods yesterday according to my sources & Claremont I have been told will probably have see the last of him

Just had Byron's mum in to chat to me.
She's very excited, although she doesn't think he will play.
The buzz here in Byron's home town is that everyone's expecting him to play.
“But they promised me he wouldn't play until he was ready” - Quote: Mrs Schammer.
BTW - this is fair dinkum.

He couldn't be much more ready.

This morning on 6pr , Big George gave the kid such praise he says he has not put on a kid his age. Freo are absolutely wrapped with him and have said he is the most talented kid that has walked through there doors ...hows that for a big call !!!!

He looks very talented to me, quick, strong, clever and can kick a good distance of both feet, they could move him into the midfield and put Troy Cook somewhere else on the ground so his kicking deficiences aren't as noticeable.
He got two votes in the footygoss rising star, however i think those could be his last as a dockers spot seems very likely!
reminds me of when Chris Judd played the first game of last season for East Perth, got b.o.g and Tony Micale said enjoy watching this kid play for the Royals as it's the last you'll ever see of him!

Recently when all of the captains were asked to predict the 2003 top 8, Brownlow, Coleman etc. Byron got a vote for Norwich Rising Star winner. Presumably it was from Peter Bell, but that's a big vote of confidence.

I didn't think the captains could vote for their own team or for players from their own team ?

I don't think capatains are able to vote for their team mates. I wouldn't be surprised if Mark Ricciuto voted for Schammer.

Yeah, Riccuito is a big fan of Schammer. I seem to remember him complementing Freo for drafting such an outstanding player in the draft with pick 13 and that he would have loved for Schammer to be at Adelaide, or words to that effect.
