but still its a huge anvantage for taller people
It should be but for some reason its not. Lets not forget that what they gain in height they loose in mobility. While they might win taps on boundary throw ins they usually get killed in general field play.

Troy Simmonds is 196 cm with a big leap and he is a MUCH better ruckman than Sandilands and Street put together.

Which is why Freo kept Sandilands and traded Simmonds - right Stiffy?? :p

Just teasing Stiffmeister!!

As for Ackland you have to believe the Port boys - he's a massive risk as cobfirmed by Alan Stewart. As others have said, we would only take him if Stewart, who would know him better than most, thought he would be redeemable, because he did give him a real bagging over his work ethic.

Pre-season draft or not at all are the likely 2 options.

1. Right:p

I think Simmonds realised that he is a much better ruckman than he is a forward and decided to leave Freo before Connolly destroys his career.

2. Or Rookie List ;)

Dont see the point of Rookie listing a player that has been on the main list of an AFL club for 5yrs already, the AFC either think he has got it or he hasnt, Rookie listing him would just be leaving Ackland in no-mans land.
