I brought this up after watching Wards 1st game last year and was told to get over it etc.
Ward is going to very good player...
Sadly McMahon could be a gun but has the heart the size of a carraway seed.
 
Cal must be a chance for a Rising Star nomination after tonight!

Couldn't understand Wallace happily giving up pick 19 for McMahon...with all due respect boys, I know who I'd rather have in the side.



McMahon always get 100 possies for Coburg...
 
Easily the worst decision made under the Wallace regime. Not just because Ward looks like a good young player but because trading a top 20 pick for an outside back flanker is ridiculous. I cant understand how the club could support such a decision.

McMahon could never be a gun - he is always going to be "handy" or "good"

what we gave for him was insane - and once again we are going to be made to look like fools

To be fair it's actually Scott Selwood who we would have drafted rather than Ward, that the doggies chose, but he looks a better long term candidate than McMahon as well. So it's all relevant considering he was drafted with the pick we gave away but we would have chosen Selwood.

Whats done is done, nothing, including a good old slap of retrospect will make any difference.

Just cross your fingers and hope that the current football department and recruiters dont make the same mistakes But I agree it was an atrocious piece of drafting

it's very frustrating - i don't think of myself as a footy guru - but there have been a couple of decisions over the past few seasons that to me seemed so simple

The McMahon one was one & the other was taking Mitch Clark over JON. I could never understand how we overlooked Mitch, we needed a big bodied key forward so desperately - and we overlooked Mitch for a tallish think back flanker??

the mcmahon one was absolute stupidity, but the JON one its not like they had a crystal ball.

as much as i dont think he will make it, clubs are always going to make bad picks, id say the fiora one was alot worse the that.

JON looked like being an adam goodes type player, but turned into a coburgesque type player.

Its clear Ward is better than McMahon.

Just hope they can persude McMahon to walk away from his contract so we can move on from the mess.
