Cam Mooney

What do you guys think of Cam Mooney?? Do you think that he is worth the gamble, or would you rather have your 3rd round draft pick???

3rd round draft pick any day.

I've seen him play for Geelong and just cringed at how pathetic he looks. I don't know if he chases or contests well, but I just remember him stuffing things up, glove-wearing fool.

Ok, I might be exaggerating a bit but I really don't want him on our list. FWIW if any of the Saints recruiting staff are reading this I'm ready to play for a dollar per year, I'll do the entire preseason and everything just to free up a bit of the salary cap and not pick up unco hacks like Cameron Mooney.

OTOH maybe we should get him and a bunch of other talls so we can just play footy a couple of feet above everyone else - handpass it around 3m in the air, wear Nigel Lappin vests to protect our ribs and then have Milney on the FF line to kick it through. GT Genius....

Anyway, with 3rd round picks.. you never never know.......

I've never really seen him much. I'm worried that a team desperate for tall forwards would trade someone 194cm tall for a 3rd round pick. Geelong obviously doesn't rate him. I guess he will provide depth as a KPP. Problably a risk worth taking.

I'd take him, but I think to be safe, I'd be putting him on a limited years, performance based contract. Give him an opportunity at least. I wouldn't be too sad to give up a pick at round 3 as it is an average draft this year.

I think that Mooney may actually have some talent, in his first game this year ( a wizard cup against collingwood) he tore the forward line apart and then buggered up his ankle whick buggered his whole year. I would like to keep him at Geelong for one more year and see how he goes.

I think you'd be mad, the roos got rid of him because he was a bad tempered dud. The saints don't need anyone like him because the players you have are better anyway. Don' t bother he wouldn't be of help

Mooney and Bomber have had a falling out with each other and Mooney wants out.

If he gets a full pre season under his belt and no injuries throughout the year, he should relish with some decent delivery from some classy midfielders unlike what he has got at geelong

Yep. You guys are the big winner of that non trade. Mooney is an absolute hack.
