For the first time since 1992 the Canberra Cannons have resigned the MVP. Dave Thomas has resigned with the Cannons for two years. We have also managed to retain most of our young squad.

With a season under our belt expect to see improvement in the Cannons next season.

Any potential new signings?

Because without a couple of quality additions i really can't see them making significant improvement.

I only just found out that because the future of the club was only secured two months before the start of the season, the team didn't come together until three weeks before the start of the season. It makes their performances last season a little more extrordinary.

As for new signings, I haven't heard of any significant ones. Most of the news in Canberra has been about the signings of our Championship winning Woman's Team. They've just signed Tom Maher as coach for next season. Carrie Graf will return for the following two seasons. Jackson and Veal have both signed three year deals. The Cannons though have failed to sign Goza, so will be in the market for two new Imports. There was a rumour the Simon Dwight may return home, but that dissappeared quicker than it appeared.

Towards the end of last season the guys finally started to show glimpses of their capabilities, and if that continues I think they can threaten 5th or 6th position.
