Who do you all think should be next years skipper?

Personally I would have Thommo. That guy never stops putting in. He is a supporters dream. It doesn't matter who we are playing or where we are on the ladder, week after week he puts in.

His winning the best clubman award this year proves how dedicated to the side he is and at his age he probably won't get another chance. I think the younger kids can wait an extra year, they are still young enough and will get their turn.

As an outsider, don't keep changing your captain...
Leave it with an experienced player and let them do the job that a captain needs to

Why a country mile?

I'd say Aaron Hamill will give it an almighty shake this year.

Hammer is my choice for the job. Thompson, who will 31 in 2004, would be a fine choice to lead us in our premiership year! Hammer is still part of the future, 2003 is another 'development/finals' year. In 2004, Thompson will be perfect to lead us for a crack at the big one.

yea tommo sounds alright to me!
true follower of the club

would be good for burkey to get 1 last yr of captaincy tho!

Thompson will captain St.Kilda next year.

Hammil will be VC.

Riewodlt went close in the vote.

and you would be saying this because....?

My 2 cents.. Hamill would be my pref for captain.. all the qualities needed.. Thommo although a true blue sainter is not really captain material...

Because Andrew is a Sainter through and through, what better man for Captain. Sammy on the other hand went where the money and Blight was. Perhaps in a couple of years when Tommo goes it will be Sammy's turn if he stays and isn't lured by more $$'s.

However wasn't Nick Riewoldt promised captaincy as part of his contract?

No!! Where'd you hear that crap from?

From a very very reliable source who is good friends with his parents. Not immediate captaincy but down the road a bit, added as an extra carrot that was dangled at contract time.

I don't think it is right as if Sammy stays he should get it after Tommo.

Please note that I would never post anything on here that was pure fabrication.

No offence to your source, but that's absolute rubbish.

He will be captain down the future, because he is THAT good.

Not because of contract negotiations!

From an outsider I was just wondering what you guys think of the plan to change the captain each year? Peronally and this is just MO, I think that it takes a bit of credibility and prestige away from being captain of the St. Kilda Football Club, knowing you are only going to be doing it for one-year on a rotation basis. However it could be worse and you could change it each wekk like my team back in Year 5.

I'd be interested to know how you all feel about it.

It doesn't matter who is captain.

Burke will be geeing everyone up regardless,
Hamill will be showing the one percenters
Harvey will be bringing his teammates into play
Riewoldt will be showing true professionalism
Lawrence will be smacking people
Fraser will be organising the backline
Hayes will show what hard work achieves
Baker will be supremely disciplined

and all this will go on regardless of who tosses the coin.

A leadership group rather than a captain.

Having said that I'd instate Hamill immediately keeping the seat warm for Riewoldt.

I'm with Falchoon on that one... ;)
