Perhaps the worst "major" columnist out there? Constantly writes about the micro-machinations of club boards, AFL coaches association and other boredom inducing inside baseball. Seriously who cares about any of that crap?
 
I cant stand her. Constantly talks over people, makes up crap and blames a source when shes wrong. Hideous to look at on TV...resembles a dropped pie. :thumbsu:

I shake and tremble in disgust when i see her rub Gary up..

You are right in that her specialty is the politics of club boards, The AFL and behind the scenes rather than the actual game.

Personally, I think there is a place for it and some of her articles are good. Some of them bore me(eg AFL commission politics or AFL players association) and she does moralise too much on certain issues, but her inside sources are usually very good(although she has been wrong a few times also) and she is always good for a few major scoops a year.

It would be boring without her IMO. She does incite and aggitate but I don't mind that, and would prefer that to boring backside kissing columns by some of the journalists. Each to their own I guess.

She makes the biggest issue out of the smallest things. She has never, ever written a positive word about the Collingwood FC.

Talk about hypocritical. Last night couldn't find any fault with Richmond's president being absent on Sunday when I can recall she has bagged people from other clubs that have been in similar situations.

Continually talks about in-house club politics that nobody other than her cares about.

Expects players ( all players ) to be angels off and on the field for the good of the game yet will highlight and amplify any players' personal issues that have nothing to do with game itself in any shape or form. Where's the consistency?

Has grudges against certain players or coaches that she pats on the back if performing but will come in with the boots flying at any opportunity when they are having a rough trot.

When caught in a situation where she has pretty much accused someone of lying she sticks to her guns. Good on her if she is proved to be right but I can't recall apologies from her when she had her facts wrong.

Gets caught up at times talking more about fourth estate issues rather than the game itself. I'm right, he's wrong, I don't agree, that's a ridiculous statement etc

Sadly Caro is typical of the pop media that footy has of late. Word of advice for all of them. Talk about the football matches. Why teams are winning and losing. Which players are playing well and which ones are struggling and why. etc
 
Last night she was hilarious..
Had a go at Denis Pagan for saying he wants to coach, and it was low class because Terry wallace's son plays for the team Denis coaches, butwhen Grant asked her why, her only response was "oh Grant, please" and sat there with a stupid look on her face, when GRant asked the question again she gave some nonsense response and looked like a bigger idiot.
Then basically called Eddie Mcquire a liar, and Mick was oblivious to what was happen to him, Garry called her out and was met with yet another inept answer from the all knowing Caro:D
 
Have to say she's started to really annoy me too.

The number of times this year I've heard a convo like this:
Caro: "I know the AFL were really disappointed with this"
Colleague: "Do you know that for a fact Caro?"
Caro: "The people in at the AFL who I've spoken to have expressed their disappointment with the way (insert club here) handled it"

She's also been doing a lot of back pedalling. And as someone said I'm sure she had a crack at Paul Gardner when he was Melbourne president for going on a charity walk and missing a game and also Paul McNamee last year when he was Melbourne CEO for going to Wimbledon and missing a game. Double standards if she thinks the Richmond President's situation is different!!!

And of course the Wallace/Pagan issue....that's just the sign of some desperado looking for a dramatic angle in a story by bringing the young fella (Wallace's son Brent) into the equation.

Couldn't disagree more actually. She's one of the best.

Would rather her pieces than the fluff that passes for most football "journalism". She's paid to focus on the behind the scenes stuff which understandably brings to light issues clubs and supporters would rather be kept hidden. The fact that she seems to upset such a wide cross section probably means she's doing her job properly.

Not to everyone's taste (obviously) but still an important aspect of football media.

I'm not saying that it isn't...

I actually have no issue if a President misses a game. But she attacked those guys, she also whinged when Roos President James Brayshaw last year missed a Kangaroos game when he was contractually obliged to call elsewhere for Triple M.

So for her to throw mud at other clubs officials for missing games yet say the Richmond President was ok to miss the Tigers match on the weekend smacks of hypocracy. Mrs Double Standards.
 
She retired Nathan Brown 2 minutes into last nights show.

And yes I was wondering where Lyon's support of a good mate went when she was going on about how it was ok for the pres to head to a wedding when the club is going as bad as it is.

I'm sorry, but people who have never played the game will NEVER have a deep enough appreciation of it to be telling other people what to think.

The way she got on the high horse was jaw-dropping because
(a) blind freddy could see that Pagan had been asked about coaching at senior level, and his answer edited to make it look like he was pitching for Wallace's job
(b) surely we all remember the way Wallace campaigned for the Fooscray job when Joyce was in the chair
 
I don't understand why she was so interested in Collingwood may or maybe not talking about Mike's role at midseason... seems bizzare to think that 1) anyone would care and 2) that the club wouldn't have dicussed Mick's performance at all until the end of the season.

With every second article she writes that starts with "The Age understands...." just to cover herself, boy howdy she is nothing more than a gossip writer, that's all.

If she actually did some half decent football analysis now and then, some of us 'upset' people might lay off her.

"Biggest issue out of the smallest things"...is that right? Collingwood are masters at that mate. The O'Bree / Umpire fiasco is the biggest beat up of a non issue , that we have had for years and years.
