Another dog thread i know, but aimed at any BigFooty member that owns or has owned an ACD.

Any of ya's out there ?.....I have two Blue Heelers. A male and a female. My Male is nearly four years old and is the most faithful, loving dog i have ever known. My Female is seven months old, and is showing signs of being an absolute cracker of a dog. Very athletic and alert, but very soft in nature, a good listener.

I would like to know of anyone that has a cattledog, be it red or blue, or has owned one, and your experiences with them. Here's a pic each of my two. Love em.

Heres the boy.

Great dogs though I wouldn't own one, because they require too much exercise & mental stimulation than I could give them. :thumbsu:

I prefer big boofas, that are happy with little exercise & then snoozing the rest of the time on the couch. :D

OOPS, forgot to say what beautiful doggies you have.

Thanks for the reply mantis. Funny you say that, my boy is called Boof :D

He loves snoozing on the couch, and is a Labrador in disguise :p

We get him out every second day for exercise, much to his disgust !!

Our little female.........Brandi, is quite opposite. Very athletic, loves a run and a jump. Boof was the biggest in the litter, Brandi was the runt. We love them both :thumbsu:

Very correct in what you say about mental stimulation. They are both inside dogs and just listen and watch us, and our every move. They take in our every day lives.

Yeah what Mantis said BWST. I had a Rotty (RIP) and loved him to bits. Biggest sooky baby bear you ever saw. He used to love his walks and swims etc, but he also used to love doing nothing. I got a kelpie x border collie to keep him company etc. This bc x k would never sit still. Did laps of the back yard all day every day. Used to bait my Rotty as well, cos he new the Rotty couldnt catch him:D. I had to give the bc x k away cos he needed too much exercise and stimulation.
It looks like your dogs get plenty of exercise. Good looking dogs too. Obviously purebreds.
It's time I got another dog. My 2 young boys keep asking for one. I reckon a labrador this time though.

My sister had a lovely male Rotty called Clint, and a Female Bluey called Colleen.

Colleen was the factor in me falling in love with Cattle Dogs. Tragically she was hit by a car on the main Gold Coast highway.

Clint the Rotty was another favourite of mine, he was a gentle giant. Colleen used to annoy and pick at old Clint like a fish wife :D

I nearly got a Rotty because of Clint, but good old father fate stepped in, and we ended up with two beautiful Cattly's. I still love Rotty's too though.
