Centre Half Forward - the toughest position to play. Brereton, Kernaghan, Carey - all pretty damn good players of their eras. And yet the Eagles won two flags with barely a CHF in sight - a dominant defence and midfield combined with a leading full forward and every other forward defending to keep the ball in there. Even had Michael Brennan there for a while in a GF.

Lost Siera in the first 15 minutes. We've named Carroll there to confuse opposition supporters. We throw Jakovich forward. Play Wilson there for 5 minutes while Cummings stays in the square. People even suggest half forward flankers like Embley and Haynes to hold down CHF in the future.

What's the future for the Eagles at CHF? Should we draft to pick up and develop a CHF? If we draft Medhurst, should we draft Bokhari with him as a job lot? Can any of our current players cut it long term at CHF and if so who?

Well this has always being a problem at the WCE's and i cant really see a solution in the near future. There is a lot of ideas, play Jakovich there, Cox will improve and then Gardy can play CHF, Haynes, McDougall, Buzcan, they can all do it??

No REAL solution...just unrealised ideas.

I think we should just find three compotent CHF flankers and try bolster the midfield (teach the midfield to defend) and defence. If the opposition cant score they cant win. Thats how we won two premierships.

The club cannot sit around waiting for a CHF to come around. If CHF is our weakness than our gameplan should avoid CHF. The coaching staff should either have a plan that:

*Goes down the middle and once it reaches the HF line it gets kicked to the flanks
*Or do a "midfield blitz", with maybe no CHF but an extra midfielder. The plan would involve running in numbers and overwelming the opposition defence. If the defenders went in to stop the midfielders the ball could be passed to a loose man up forward, or if they manned up the midfielders could basically run into the goals with the ball.

These plans are simple but the idea is there, avoid the teams weakness. Port did this, they have only Tredrea as a tall forward so they used their midfielders to attack(passing to Dew who bombed in and goaled).

Not brain-busting stuff, though i wouldn't expect KJ to come up with something usefull.

We recruited Sierakowski and McDougall for Center Half Forward and unfortunately for us, Siera got injured without being able to prove he was good enough to hold that position and our back-up in McDougall has had injuries/late start to the season.

Sierra was the short term CHF option. For the future I think the club hopes that McDougall will play CHF with Haynes and Embley as flankers. Gaspar will hopefully play CHB when he bulks up. Two key positions hopefully wrapped up!!!
