LOVE IT!!!!!!
im lookin to future here...no Rocca...he will be gone 2010 i reckon.
Has he got a bigger build than Reid and Rusling?
Much closer to the truth than suggesting he would have gone top 10 without the injury.I've heard people say that he would have gone top 10 if he wasn't injured, but i've also heard people say that even before his injury, the likes of Hansen, Gumbleton, Thorp, the Browns, Reid, Hawins, McKenzie etc were all clearly more impressive and that he would have gone around were he went if he wasn't injured, as it was a surprise that we took him where we did. Hard to argue with those stats though.
Is that because he genuinely isn't as talented as those players, or just that he wasn't able to show enough in limited games? Meaning if he had continued to play his value could have gone up to being a top 10 pick. I mean I've heard people say he was as good as Hawkins who he played with and likely would have gone number 1 if he wasn't taken father/son, but Hawkins was the focal point of his team, therefore rated higher.Much closer to the truth than suggesting he would have gone top 10 without the injury.
In reality, he would have gone around the same area without injury, but there would have been a lot more competition for his services by the second round. We were, in reality, the only team prepared to take him at #28 when taking into account his injury.
From AFL prospectus:
"At 194 cm and 96 kg Dawes dominated in the air with an average of more than four contested marks per game in the TAC cup - the best of any player. An elite player in the air
Willi.Do you think he still has a chance for a game this season or will he play the rest of the year for Willi?

Thier own TAC coach said that IF it wasn't for hawkins being the focal point of all there attacks and them asking dawes to sacrifice his game by leading his man up the ground he himself would of been the centre of attention, he was rated by a fair few before his knee to go in the 1st round but after knee he was expected to slip hence the clubs took a risk which payed off for us.
From AFL prospectus:
"Dawes will miss 2007 after undergoing a knee reconstruction late last season, but he produced some amazing numbers in his six TAC cup games in 2006. At 194 cm and 96 kg Dawes dominated in the air with an average of more than four contested marks per game in the TAC cup - the best of any player. An elite player in the air, Dawes was just as good on the ground with an average of three groundball-gets inside 50 which ranked fifth of all TAC cup players, and second of all draftees. He won plenty of the ball overall with an average of 19 disposals and eight marks, and kicked a total of 14 goals. His average of seven inside 50s per game in the TAC cup ranked fourth of all players, yet he still won 39% of his possessions inside the forward 50."
