Re: chris dawes - rapper?
These are terrible accusations you're making against one of our players! Rapping! Sheesh, of all things! If only he'd smoked bongs and swam a lot, then I could be proud.
Actually, MC'ing yoyoyo-style with a minor speech defect (very minor - I'm a dick for bringing it up,) probably just points to his inner strength. But the guy does talk like a professor, and looks like a model... ok, I'm in love.
But he's played like Doug Hayward so far - i.e. 3rd up in pack-mark situations he's looked like he's focused on the seagull rather than the ball, and clapped his hands above his head with his eyes shut, while the ball's marked 3 metres away.
For all the hype my hopes have been shot down by his bad bits of play so far, & I'm talking '08, forget the NAB cup dog day he had.
Now his good day - crows final.... that's a young raw prototype Jon Brown type of game.
His coolness when he marked and goaled late - that was rare rare coolness. A handy unusual AFL quality. And his speccy mark in the 3rd? Well mate, if you can do the awesome stuff at the top level, then you've earned 2 extra years on the list to come good.
But you gotta do it a bit more - or else you've gotta do a lot more of the bread&butter...
Not super-confident of either yet.... jsut playing the percentages.
AFL's seen a lot of mediocre tall forwards come&go; because they get 5 years to come good, which naturally only 30% ever do.
But he plays for Collingwood, so I do hope he kicks arse.
yo guys was just wonderin if neone knows if chris dawes still raps. when i went to school with him he was the good hip hop mc... cheers
