Brad Greens headbutt on Ryan ended in a report. Shouldn't have Crowley been awarded a 50m penalty as well due to the report? This would have meant he would have kicked from the goal rather than that acute angle? Just Wondering?

Rule has recently been changed.

If the player had a mark or free kick then it would 50 = one penalty.

Crowley did not have a mark or free kick so he was awarded a free kick = one penalty.

Its now seen as, if Green didnt get suspended and at the time a 50 metre penatly was given, he is getting penalised for something that wasnt worthy of a report.

So now when reports are made, 50 metres arent meant to be given, in case the report wasnt necessary.

Thats how it is in the WAFL, so i gather the AFL would be very similar as the WAFL rules are taken from the AFL
