Yeah I've been thinking this for a while now. It's almost funny how many teams have stuffed it up.

I doubt we will make it to finals, but honestly I'm not sure I want us to make it from a development point of view. Don't get me wrong, I really want us to be playing finals again, but I want it to be with a team that deserves to there and has the potential to take a good stab a september. At the moment we are far from that and if we made it I feel the club and players may think we are further along our development arc than we actually are. Then again Knights and co are pretty smart, maybe that would be worrying over nothing.

I suppose though that a taste of finals might just spur them on that little bit more. And obviously it'd be good experience.

What I'd most like to happen would be to win these last three games - then we'd definitely deserve that 8th spot.

Funny, after about 6-7 rounds, everyone was on the edge of their seats when the round finished because you Geel/Saints 2-3 wins above everyone else, Melb/Rich 2-3 wins below everyone else ... and 12 teams in the middle on 4-3 and 3-4.

So basically, everyone thought the finals ... particularly teams 4-8 ... would be very evenly matched and very competitive. Hence, whoever got their deserves a lot of credit for fighting off the opposition.

Cometh round 20 ... and we're all adamant that whoever finishes 8th is the least deserving of a finals berth in the history of the game.

How 3 months can change a lot in football.
