This is a bulletin I just got from Cog via myspace for all interested, has an update on the recording for the new album.

__________________________________________________________

This newsletter comes with some sudden news of shows for the Band in LA in the next week. We’ll be playing with a band called
Apex Theory
on Friday, March 2nd at the The Airliner 2419 N. Broadway , LA-- time 9pm and tickets are $10. So, come on down if your keen, it’s our first gig on U.S soil so it will be a great night for all.

On Monday 5th, cog will play at the Famous Whisky a Go Go in LA--time 8.15pm. Also, dates for a Show in Reno and gigs Down in Texas at the South By South West Conference showcase event will be announced soon on the cog website soon.

On the recording side of things, the date to push the record button for the new album has yet again been pushed back. This time by a month because of showcase gigs amongst other things, but it’s good news for the band as they’ll get more time to write and build an arsenal off songs to chose for the new album.

The U.S release date for The New Normal will be on the 5/15/07 out through The
National Recorder
label distributed through Fontana. The first single to radio will be ‘Resonate’, and the band plan to make a film clip for the U.S market so Australian fans will get an encore with some ‘Resonate’ eye candy.

Keep an eye out on our myspace page in the next few weeks for some clips of Cog in Weed. You’ll see the boys hard at work doing writing for the new album, the
Radiostar Studios
complex which has come so far in the last two years. Plus, our Radiostar family in Weed who have gone to great lengths to make our Weed experience as confinable as can be. The Radiostar crew are truly beautiful people and have hearts of gold.

>From all in the cog crew, we hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits.

Best

Luke, Lucius, Flynn

Thanks for that. Why they're not making 'My Enemy' the 1st single for the US I don't know. It's clearly the catchiest, most 'flog the chorus' track on the album, the one most likely to be some sort of hit over there.
I s'pose they and their management know what they're doing....

Usually the single they have the most hope for is the second one released so I'd expect that to happen with My Enemy.

i'm in california, unfortunately i don't think i'll be able to make it to LA for either of the gigs, which sucks... i wish i could take my car on the plane with me :)
