The Prismall-overrating really annoys me.

Hasn't playes since our streak and was terrible against the Roos. His direct opponent, Simpson I believe ripped him to pieces.

Simpson had a blinder that day, and Prismall was just one of the catters who got ripped a new one, due respect to a guy who was unstoppable on the day.
Why would you never give him a chance to redeem himself? If we did that, we would have an 80% changed team atm. The reason he is rated highly by many on this board is because he can have fantastic games with some average games. Which means he has great potential...

I've got a vested interest in Cooney, and I'm here to tell you he would nicely slot into our best 22. He will be an exceptional player.

I'd swap quite a few of our guys for him right now.

You'd know if his OP is going to give him grief or not so please assess that before you consider the deal to the cats.

FWIW Cooney is a really good player, a S Johnson type and shines on the Doggies list, not so much on ours though.

PFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTT - Nobody in their right mind would want to lose Cooney. Has been in our best 5 players this season, was playing ultra consistent footy up until the Geelong game, and last week against the Eagles he was a drip an hour before the game. The guys a freak, maybe some supporters are venting their anger over the teams performance but Cooney is rated very highly over at the kennel and his defensive game has improved dramatically over the past 12 months. A fit Cooney is a force.

He's in a similar place that SJ was at the begining of the year (on field anyways).

He has the talent but he just needs to pull his finger out to take it to the next level.

He might be the sort of bloke that needs to move on to take his game to the next level but I doubt there is room on the geelong list to fit him in for what he'd offer us and what we'd have to give up to get him.

I'd be surprised if the Doggies wanted to offload Cooney. Generally people question his work ethic but with the new 'no passengers' culture the leadership group is pushing at Geelong I'd happily take him. Not for Corey though, would be a bargain if we traded Prismall (I also rate his potential but it is just potential at this stage) and a first round pick.

I really don't think we will have the salary cap space to be taking on a gun #1 draft pick. It's gonna be tight enough as it is at the end of the year, and we might have to lose 1-2 players to fit everyone under the cap.

agree with the salary cap factor...we'll have to do a brisbane lions team sacrifice to keep the boys together without the interstate salary cap bonus they get...

but regarding cooney....he's got potential to be an elite all round midfielder, not just inside or outside. Physically he's very well developed, its just that West and Cross are the inside starters and he needs to build his engine I think. When he gets there, the Cats will need to watch out. (last friday, Triple M)

PS: the only team I can remember trading a good #1 pick is brisbane, and they got something like pick 3 for him from freo --> brennan. So potentially pick 16 for cooney? Dreaming...

Never quite sure about this - is it because clubs must draft 2 players and therefore have to send at least 2 on their way - often reluctantly? And Brisbane were able to get around that?
And if BF posters had a say in it there would be little doubt who'd get the ar*e!
