No excuses today. Beaten by a side who wanted to win the game more than ourselves.

Looking at the big screen during the national anthem and the ANZAC ceremoney, the look in the eyes of Simpson, Archer, Harvey etc was strong enough to tell they were in for big days.

Leadership. The Roos have it.

Cheering for duds, or cheering for your team.

I don't know who is worse, those that think telling their team they are duds and EXPECT them to win everyweek, or those supporting their team to the fullest, even through losses they should have won.

In fact I know who is worse.

The team may have lost, so be it. Sure the Kanga's had a greater sense of passion out there today, I'm not saying that isn't true.

But consistently calling your team duds, do you think that will not only change them, the coach or your future views about the team ??

It will only breed a constant lack of heart within the team, and yourself. It will only bring about further anger. This feeling (anger) is an emotional reaction, to thoughts of "I want the world to be the way I want it, not the way it is".

Lose that crap, you don't need it, neither do the team. Look at the word supporter, the first part of it is SUPPORT. How are we as supporters supposed to EMPOWER the team, by bloody clapping and cheering even through losses such as this.

I totally disagree with you on this, why be a bad loser, isn't that what we teach children ??? Be proactive, shift to thoughts that empower yourself and others, success will then bloom from that.

Please tell me you're not a lay preacher? Or a "life coach"? You have written the biggest load of hyperbolic crap that I have ever read. "Empower the team"...please...the problem with this team is they have no bloody heart and possibly have been too empowered for their own good.

This is utter drivel.

You don't EMPOWER a team by applauding poor performances. All that does is encourage mediocrity, and that is precisely the problem Geelong is facing now, and has been for years. Too happy with themselves and too little motivation to improve it. Applauding them after a poor loss like today just reinforces that.

By the way, you do applaud good performances. I really, really hope that someone took young Selwood aside after the game and congratulated him on a great effort and gave him some encouragement. And I hope even more that Bomber Thompson did it, because if he didn't, he's not worth sh!t as a coach.

Anyone catch the bit in The Age today about how Andrew Raines was sick of being applauded off after a loss? There's one player who sure isn't empowered.

If in doubt, you play the kids. King has got to go and so do a few others. I watched the game today, it wasn't of a good standard. Well still stay positive, a season isn't five rounds, it is 22, keep the faith and stick by your team. Good luck for the remainder of the season and I hope Selwood gets a rising star nomination for the round - what a gun. An idea, you can have three co-captains from next year and have Harley, Chapman and Selwood as them.
