I recorded many hours of footage from the US Open golf this past wekend. I would like to harvest small clips from this to make my Youtube premier. I have transferred what I want to DVD, so I can view it on computer. How do I convert these discs into 'raw' footage that I can then edit and manipulate in Windows Movie Maker or Adobe Premier Elements?

Any help anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.

If your DVD disks are "authored" Fair Use Wizard would very simply give you a 700MB .avi to work with. If your DVDs are data disks of TV mpeg2 files I'd download Virtualdub mpeg2 to edit them. Premiere's not keen on these large TV files I've noticed. You give no dimensions of your proposed project.

If the footage is MPEG2, I'd recommend Womble Mpeg Video Wizard DVD. You can slice and dice the footage without re-encoding it, as well as adding any audio you like to the end result. :thumbsu:
