Anyone here benefiting from this?

What are the redemptions like in the redemption catalogue they send out?

Is it worth going all out and going gold or platinum if you don't intend on using the hotel more than once a year?

I find it hard the punting board hasn't got someone here that's a signature club guru.

Also, why does it feel they hold back on all the info on benefits?

I'm a gold member but know plenty of platinum members

Its nowhere near worth it, the turnover required to achieve Gold is really high and I'm not even sure what the hotel benefits are? 20% off or something?

The two biggest benefits is free parking if you use Crown parking for times you dont intend to gamble, its a great easy parking spot for nothing and the second being the cashback on you turnover. I dont know what % you get (obviously realy small) but those are the only two things I really use. I could go in to the Teak room and drink my $40 worth of alcohol a day free but I'm not an alcoholic and the Teak room is a shit hole imo

As for Platinum, if you could have it you'd already have it. The turnover required is massive. Of course you get Mahogony Room access with free alcohol etc

Basically its for gamblers only, its not worth anybody chasing it who arent going to be spending a considerably amount of time in Crown gambling

gold card is ok if you spend bit of time booking in hotels (20% off), want priority seating at their high end resturants and better Free parking;basement parking. Also if you want to smoke, gamble and grab a bit of free alchy in the teak room. personally i dont think its worth it, the amount of cash spent to get gold is too high with really little benefit.

If you're just a regular joe punter - couple hundred here and there then its really hard to get gold card. Kinda easy you have enough cash and willing to sit on a $100-300 baccarat table for couple hours a day or just camp on the table and pretending you're playing lol. Getting to platinum is another story.......

Black card is where its at  but probably cost you couple of 100k/million lol...... Would love to be able to enter one of the VIP Salons on the 39th floor and see what it's like.

For the most part black card is invite only and lots of people that have it do **** all gambling

Celebrities etc will get them along with wives of gamblers who don't really gamble etc, so they have a high % of black card holders that bet less than bronze

Well, what are the benefit of having the black card then?

When I worked there as a dealer you needed to wire $10m into Crown's account before they'd even look at you for salon play. Having seen the inside of the VIP salons, it's quite plush (think overstuffed armchairs and thick shagpile carpets) but not overly special. They only have room for 4 tables in each salon (customisable to a players request), however if you're the only person in the room this allows you to move from table to table when your luck 'runs out' at a table or the dealer is shuffling up the cards. State law (I think, though it could be Crown's policy?) dictates the maximum bet is $100,00 per hand, however you can play every box on the table if you like (for Blackjack this is ~$700,000 per hand.) Completely customised service as you would expect and a personal butler on call 24/7 to assist you with anything you may need. Oh, and only two keys for each salon exist, meaning that you've got no chance of every wandering in there by accident.

There's a thread on whirlpool about this.

If you work on southbank or that side of the city and drive to work - it's probably worth having a silver membership for parking alone.

Return on turnover at the lower levels is very low. I've played a reasonable amount of $25, $50, $100 per hand blackjack, have a mid-ranging silver membership and have probably received less than <$5-600 in table play back in the last 6 months or so.

You also need to be very anal about checking your card is in the system. Have played multiple sessions where they've never entered/removed me.

Unless you use every-day for parking or enjoy gambling i wouldn't bother.

They must've changed. Was talking to a host last night who works in the salon on level 29??, told me to get into the salon you need a minimum of 2m. Also there isnt a limit on how much u can bet per hand. Their highest plaque is 1m

Highly possible that this has changed since I finished up there in 2012 and the state government have been bending the law to accommodate Crown's high rollers since the smoking exemptions first came into place. I did get to hold the 1m plaque though for a couple of seconds though :D

Interesting read cheers mate, worth noting that it's possible to rise up the tiers without betting in the Casino. With Crownbet you can also bet on sports etc, which is my chosen form of the punt..Will be gaining platinum card very soon..Certainly won't be putting big $$$ on the tables there but will pop in to check it all out..If you have multi bets on short priced teams, they basically give you 450 points for $450 multi bet...But only 90points for a single bet...Taking 3 legged multis and bank teller betting has seen me rack up the points very quickly..

Is all food and drink free in the Mahagony do you know? Would be grateful for any other info if you know of any other perks..
I have had some awesome free tickets to the footy through them also plus a night in the box at dreamtime...that was quite a night..apparently there was footy on... :)

When I made this post Crownbet wouldnt have existed I dont think, it certainly opens the door for different gamblers to get access to Crown perks

Mahogany Room drinks these days are capped for a lot of people. If you have a platinum card then your drinks are free, but there will be a point where they're not meant to give you any more (this is a recent change I'm not really up to speed with). If you're even a semi regular visitor to the room and have a any relationship with the bar staff it isnt really an issue though, you wont pay for drinks

Food as I understand it isnt free, but you can use your Crown Points to cover the cost of Crowns basic menu

The bean counters have certainly taken over at Crown the last 5 years

You can redeem those points for free bets as well mate, just so you know.. :)

Yeah I know. But i don't think the parking costs points, just a side benefit depending on your level.

They do have one good reward which is a lunch at one of their restaurants on GF day with a footy panel, transport to the G and a match ticket. I'm a bit of a way off that, and would want two.

I play poker at Crown Perth 3 nights a week and I consider the Crown points the same as money as I spend them on food, drinks and the occasional hotel stay. I even used to bet on both sides during their rugby league promo with two accounts if I was pretty sure than the game was going to be closer than 10 points (money back in bonus points).

They had some great promos with bonus points but these seem to have dried up.

Been doing a bit of exploring today..Turns out they give a free meal up to 17.50 and you can store 2 on your card and claim them at the same time,
They are valid for 7 days so you could have a weekly free feed also if you're punting on the AFL every week like me..

There is such a thing as a free lunch..time to sign up Bunk..
