I was at the Glenelg vs Eagles game today and here is my assessment of the crow players who played in the reserves. I wont do the league this week coz the game was on tv.

John Hinge - Started the game off well but then was injured half way through the second quarter and Im pretty sure didnt play at all in the second half.

Josh Krueger- Played at full forward and centre half forward. He kicked 2.3 for the match and took about five marks. I thought once again Krueger was fairly average and didnt really do a lot to impress. He had a brief spell on the bench in the third quarter coz he couldnt get into the game.

I was sitting near Darrel Hart and I heard him say he thinks Krueger is crap and he also said he didnt think much of Chad Gibson. He said Gibson can jump at the ruck but that about it. I was amazed how negative Hart was about crow players today (including the crow players playing league), its not surprising he took North to the bottom. He is currently working for the crows helping out Alan Stewart.

And he's sitting around at an SANFL game bagging our players? Fire the tosser.

Posted in the TV scheduling thread, but I suppose it's easier here:

Eagles won by 26 or so, after Glenelg had pummelled them in the first half, got out to 39 points I think at one point in the 3rd quarter before the Eagles suddenly turned it on.

Watts was in and out of the game, took 5 or 6 marks and kicked 2.2 from memory. Presented well and I was really impressed with his work when the ball was on the ground. Kicking from set shots is horrible though, should have had 4 easily.

Knights got a lot of the ball, and his kicking was again hit-or-miss. Lots of up and unders. Unless we do some work on his kicking, we'll have another Burton, Connell, Bode et al - able to go and get plenty of the ball, but prone to waste it. The commentators were groaning every time he kicked it.

Schuback was on fire in the first half, was everywhere, kicked 4 goals and had great pace. Faded a bit when the Eagles came storming on in the 3rd quarter but bobbed up on the ball late in the last quarter and did some good things. With Ladhams out of the picture, my smokey for a forward-line crumber role with us - he worked hard when I was watching, had good pace and was at the contests to crumb.

Bode was Bode. Really a class above SANFL, got his share of the ball, generally his disposal was acceptable and he was always burrowing in at the bottom of the packs. A solid game, but not worthy of an AFL game.

Andrews I barely noticed. He ran like a girl in a bit I was watching, definitely don't think he's going to make it, makes little impact at SANFL level. And dear god, get a haircut!

Gibbs (:D) I only noticed late in the game once I was told he was playing, he did some lovely things and should have had 3 goals in the last quarter. Something special.

and finally...

Hentschel was superb. I've called him soft and supported his dropping, but if he can come into the Crows and play like this, we would have a star. Started at half-back and was usual Hentschel, floating around, reading the play well and mopping up. However with the Eagles in dire trouble Fuller threw him into CHF and he was the single key factor in their turnaround. Played an absolutely textbook game at CHF, everything he touched turned to gold, he presented, he delivered and he was in everything. Yet for some reason, I haven't seen him show this sort of commitment when playing for us...maybe realises his spot is on the line? He will be picked again after this performance, hopefully he can carry that kind of form into the Crows.
