Warwick Farm - Race 8 - 15.Octavian August @ $4.80

Lightly raced Waller 3yo who gets in on the minimum here. Bolted in his Maiden at Newcastle before failing when well backed against the likes of Foxplay next time out in town. This looks a class drop and might be more unexposed than the rest of them.

More Aces $3.50

looks to be the perfect race for it. hot speed, 1 fave hasn't trialled on the way in the other looked pretty well exposed in it's second trial running second and running 2.5L behind stablemate in times beaten by 5yo maidens. won quite easy last week from 4w no cover from well back doing a lot wrong would have to go backward or something jump out the ground here.

jump out of the ground it did. 70:1 hard drifter on the exchange debutant beats it after a cosy run on speed. gaps the rest... second....

KALG R6 CONFUSING - TOTE (approx $20)

only done 1 race today being the boulder cup. a horse i overrate but can't find a reason to really knock it other than the first start kalgoorlie factor which is extremely hard. still in a race where probably a bolter takes the lead this and cougar express get gun runs if they can cross but this gelding has better historic form and last start form.

Casterton - Race 5 - 2.Princely Blaze @ $2.35

Sure to be a complete bog at Casterton and this guy has won 2 of his last 3 when he's seen Heavy. Since then has been placed in a BM70 at Morphteville which should be more than good enough to win this.

r7 york Our Mate Al. $3.20. 2 wins in about 40 starts last win over 2100. 1300 today. if it knows how to win, it should be winning.

Moonee Valley - Race 6 - 2.Prompt Response @ BT

Expect Merriest to be quite popular here but she was $26 when winning last time out and is now under $4 here which doesn't scream value. Had Prompt Response met her first up she would have been miles shorter in the betting. Off a couple of nice trials I assume Gai must have a plan to send her down her first up and she looks like a good bet at the odds.

no real excuses for the favourite before breaking 56seconds and track record at northam and it's already $3-1.80 and probably tightens more. not sure he'll back up here and this horse is also very talented, should be favourite or at least much closer to lord devouly in the market.

Bendigo R7- 10. Leotie @$1.80 (Sportsbet)

Boring selection but happy to take the odds even on the heavy, surely she is just too good for these. If she handles the going (did win her maiden on soft) then $1.80 is a gift.

the heck is she doing at Bendigo?

the heck is she doing at Bendigo?
Entered for Caulfield Sat but 60kg and drop back to 1200m would've been a shocking idea. Could have gone to the Stutt Stakes but maybe they think she needs another run at 1400m before the mile? So I guess this is the most suitable race for her as a lead up to the TG, other than the heavy 9.

If the trainer was any good they'd go straight to the Guineas - seems madness to run her on a Bendigo bog just over a week out.
Agree. Most trainers in Aus can't get their horses ready off a 5 week break though and can only get them fit by racing them. I'm sure Dwyer knows his inability so was forced to run it somewhere.
