Daniel Connors at the Draft Camp

I was just reading David Meyers NAB Draft Camp Diary (Link here: http://www.afl.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=208&newsId=52259 )

And on Thursday it says that Daniel Connors spoke to the Players.

Just wondering if any-one knows what he had to say seeming he went from a potential top 10 pick to fall all the way to pick 58?

Love the way the kid plays footy so im just interested to hear what he would have to say on his experiences in the AFL this year.

They could have had Gibbs or someone but instead Connors spoke to the players. The RFC has said about mid-year he changed his attitude, maybe he spoke about the transition process or something.

It's great to see he is becoming a leader, that is what I like the most!

Liked this when I read it. Amazing the turn around after story at the start of the year to a bloke who is now addressing the next batch of draftees.

We must do everything to keep Craig McRae.

Shane Edwards must've had a few quiet days at home as well without his taxi as well btw.

Goldsack was rumoured to be a confidence problem. Apparantly there was a struggle to convince him that he really belonged out there, and then more of a struggle to get him to take the game on and not deferring to his teammates. (So goes the media article I read anyway). I suppose on the HBF the game comes to you a little bit.

I don't think we'd say Connors suffered from that

Connors could have been interesting to listen to. Could have spoken about how he starred at the Champs, though he would go top-10 or 20. Got a kick in the teeth by just sneaking into the draft. Then found out that he was a bit of a porker by AFL standards and couldn't run with the big boys. Club bans, and then finished the season well. Nice roller coast ride and hopefully some lessons learnt and then imparted.

Nar should of I have his myspace so I might message him and ask, I was to pissed. Spoke to him for about half an hour or so, champion! We were pretending I was the big J. Riewoldt to clueless blond for a bit haha pretty funny. I remember him going on about massive improvements next year and he was pumping up Edwards a fair bit.

Connors i think had a rep of a badboy so clubs were wary you see how he gets fired up but i see that as a plus.

Connors is a good bloke, he doesn't have an attitude problem or anything, he is just a confident young man, and when he has the skill and ability like he does then let him be confident. I would rather him be confident than a recluse like Danny Meyer.

He won the best performed Richmond FC player for Coburg at their B&F awards, so he is certainly putting it all together nicely, next year I would think he will play the majority of games and hopefully pick up a nice TV courtesy of the Rising Star mob, and maybe by the end of the year a good $20,000 bonus.

He will be the absolute steal of the 2006 draft, stuff Westhoff, we have the steal of that draft.

i hope he does alright in the rising star award aswell. This kid is a freak! A new cult figure down at tigerland.
Imagine what he'll be like if he gets in the gym and ends up with a body size the same as lids! he will be unstoppable.
