Danny Carey.

Hey there,

First off I will start with a disclaimer:

I am not musically trained and do not intend on being.

Now, I want opinions from musicians with regard to Danny Carey. I find myself listening to Tool and focusing on his drumming to an equal or even greater extent than the other instruments.

From a lamers perspective I have not heard many people in the modern era that even come close to him.

Where does he rate amongst the best drummers of all time. And, if you could, please recommend songs where other drummers just kick complete ass like Carey.

I would rate him as about the 478th best Heavy Rock/Metal drummer in the world, after Peart, Portnoy, Hoglan, Lopez, Axenrot, Verbueren, McBrain, Adler, Haake, Sandoval, Herrera, Bostaph, Erlandsen, Lee, Borich, Paice, etc etc etc......
