Ok that's fine but since he is contracted for this year how about we support the kid in trying make a career out of this instead of rubbishing him when he hasnt played a game yet this season and wasnt fit most of last season.

If he has a shocker by all means rip into him but I find it annoying that there are still 22 rounds remaining for these kids to find themselves a spot in this team and they're dismissed already.

Well said,Give the kid a chance first!!

How can you be sure he wasn't just sore from injury?

People still say Nathan G. Brown looks lazy, sometimes good footballers just have a lazy aura. Same for Joel "lazy" Bowden and Brett Deinning our little Nab Challenge last year )

I find that players with excellent skills in particular "appear" to be lazy because they have such confidence in their skills that when they get the ball they don't panic, they keep a cool head. At Richmond we have not had much experience with these type of players :D

Spot on, we have tended to give players like Tiv, Chaffey, . Hyde, Hall etc careers because they are not lazy and train hard on the training track. Of course that translates into sustained success on the field when it comes to the real stuff, as has been the case with our "try hard" teams of the past decade, seeing as thats the only talent they posses.
This kid has more talent in one finger than all of the above combined have in total. And here we have muppets saying he is lazy lets get rid of him, because he doesnt do what they did.
ie, i know i have NFI, so what do i do to lick the coaches arse? i know, train the place down, so i can stand out in a list of super stars and I too can be applauded as I leave the field after 150 games of nothingness. Get real nuff nuffs, you need to understand what the youngsters that posses real talent tend to do, shall we talk about Connors? naaa, lets not fools. ;)

I really hope he can get over the injury an hopefully plays some senior footy

The guy has excellent skills(something we really lack) however just hasn't been able to find the ball!! If he can overcome that (pretty big if) he could become a really good player. If he can't do that, he will no doubt be gone at years end!

Lets just leave it at this. He played his first game against the Power and in that first game, looked a more at home in it than half our "seniors" have looked like in all their careers. ;)

Wasn't Steve Johnson classified as lazy? Maybe we should give him a go before writing him off. We have bigger concerns like Tivendale and Howatt getting a senior game.

Correct...... It worries me that old turnoverdale will play...
Bring on the kids
I would much rather see Meyer play than the 2 above FFS:cool:

relax pheonix, alot of these so called suppoerters were the same ones ripping into foley when he first started out. theyre called "RICHMOND" supporters.

We trash talk kids and call for the coaches head every month or so,, thats just our lot and thats how it is.

Danny should be able to carve out a nice income in the VFL for the next ten years or so like Digby has.

Very good at the lower level and can't cut the mustard at the elite level

*sigh* :o

Aren't you embarrassed enough?

He was NEVER "very good at the lower level", his hip injury prevented it.

He has always been one of those players that plays better in the upper level with the faster pace, like Cleve Hughes and Nathan Brown.

I must have missed all those games where he played so well at the upper level!

Well said Wally.
A few other players that had that semi lazy rather larconic look about the way they player are James Hird, Mathew Knights, Dermott Brereton, Brad Johnson, Dean Kemp, the list goes on.
I'm not for one second suggesting that Danny Meyer will ever be a player that can be talked about in this sort of company, but lets a least let him serve out his contract without devouring his rotting corpse.
Whether you like him or not he is here until at least the end of 2008 so why not get behind the kid, hope he can get over his injury problems so that he at least has the chance to show us what he is capable of.

Alas i'm sure this will not happen because ther is just too many people on this board that are not happy unless they are having a bitch about anything and everything to do with the RFC and the direction it is taking!!

Here, here. I am so over the same old people bitching about our players.

Let's be positive and give the kids a chance to develop.

Great post. totally agree.

No doubt, all the bleeding hearts on here will tell about his injuries, bad luck etc .

Why don't we give him 100 games like krakour then delist him when we are all 120% sure he is an absolute spud!

I wouldn't wait till the end of the season.

oh, so you are admitting your just a negative, whinging, bitch faced supporter.

cheers, thanks for clearing that up. Glad to know you are well aware of the annoying prick you are:thumbsu:
