I was talking to a mate of mine last night who works as an electrician here in adelaide, hes a crows fan but i trust what he says to be true.
he reckons he bumped into danny meyers dad at work yesterday and had a bit of a chat to him. apparently danny is very dissatisfied at richmond and 'cant wait until the end of the year' so that he can shop himself around to other clubs (being out of contract he has no intention of re-signing with the tigers). he also said that when the tigers gave the job to terry wallace it was because of his media nous and they saw him as a means to get the club out of debt and that he has no idea when it comes to team structure and that sort of thing.
now i am not saying that these things are definitely true, just that this is what was relayed to me second hand from the dad of a dissatisfied player's point of view. interesting is all.
 
Wouldn't be surprised.

Meyer never looks happy, even when we first drafted him, he looked disapointed.

The stuff about Wallace is probably true as well and I remember hearing Gary March saying he has told Terry to stop focusing on the media and just coach, Terry is a good coach, I just think that his first priority has been with the media.
 
one other thing is he said that the club would have gone for eade if not for the media thing and the ability to 'sell' the club.
 
i hope it is true, i am sick of this kid, pick 12 and again another good pick up by the richmond footy club. We pretty much lost ottens for nothing, cause meyer is no better than pick 80. Pattison i still have many ??? over, not tall enough for a ruckman but not mobile enough for a CHF, and can people stop saying that he is a CHF, he may be a good CHF in the vfl, but he will never make it as a CHF in the afl. Should have taken Wood who is a ruckman and was a richmond supporter growing up as a kid. On that point that is exactly what richmond need more of. Players that supported richmond as kids, that will actually play with some pride and passion for the jumper they are wearing.

i hope he wants out too... he doesnt want to play for the tigers.. if anyone has seen coburg games might feel the same way... anyone who dont want to play for the yellow and black piss off!!!
 
the thing i find disapointing is that if one young player is disatisfied with the coach then i wonder how many of the others are, when we look at last weeks performance. i dont know if i conveyed that in my original post but from what the guy said it sounded like terry was a big part of the problem with dannys attitude.

sometimes u just gotta cut your losses... with this attitude if true, he has no chance of turning it around at the tigers. Says abit abt his character too. If he was hungry and motivated hed have done something about his skinny frame , as it is it looks as though he cant be ar.sed getting into the gym and putting on some size. Bugger him, glad he was dropped then... but still id rather someone else was brought in instead of krak ffs

whta the hell would he know about Wallace lacking in team structures etc? Hes just being a petulant little f.u(k

you always have some players dissatisfied with the coach, happens at every club, sometimes you just dont click with a certain coach, no chemistry oir whatever you want to call it. I have seen no evidence whatsoever to suggest the young guys arent happy with Wallace, on the contrary i think its obvious they really try to play for him... the senior core )richo excepted) well thats another issue....

Remember Meesen won't be going anywhere unless he asks to be traded.

What you're seeing from Hamish McIntosh at the moment, is what you'll be seeing from the Meese in 2 years.
 
Most kid wouldnt risk tanking it in the hope that they will somehow be picked up by another club. the only thing of interest would be his high draft pick.

Wouldn`t listen to much to his criticism Darth ... just an excuse to get out IMHO ... Not like it`s based on his wide football knowledge .

Will say this though .... i don`t care what anyone says .... last weeks performance wreaks of something wrong at the club other than our list

I like it how Danny is hanged for a comment he most likely hasn't said. Meyer is a rare talent and will play very good footy - hopefully at the tiges. If he goes it will another monumental stuff up by RFC.
 
seems obvious....let the kid go home....or rather tell him the best way is to play well for the rest of this year so we can make sure he can go where he wants...make it a win-win....tell him we will play him ...if he shows some, Port or Crows will be after him...but move him on!
 
look, lets get one thing straight. i never said that these comments are correct. i simply conveyed something that was said to me. you are getting fouth hand info here, so take it as you will. i just think its a worry.

We all hear things and somethimes they are true, you can only convey them.

Its a good topic as Im sure a number of young players are wondering about the place. Its what worries me and is the price that clubs must pay when they are not performing. Its a topic because we have to pay over the price for the second contract often.

Terry wasnt popular with all Bulldogs durring his time. Could be that he told Meyer to pull his finger out. Might be another Dad thinking his son should be getting more senior play. I often think to his credit he uses all after match press conferences alot better than other coaches. Rather than sulk during them he tends to make his headlines there.
 
So what you're saying here is that Meyer allegedly told his father that the Richmond board selected Wallace purely for his media skills, suspecting he was incompotent when it comes to team structure etc.

My question would be, who is feeding the playing group this kind of negative information, unless that's just Meyer's bitter opinion. If the whole playing group doesn't have any respect for Terry as a football coach that'd go some way to explaining our 157 point loss...

wallace when he left the dogs was not having a good relationship with the young players - didn't give them the tim of day - he left Rhode to look after them (thats why rhode wa appointed coach - he had their respect )

I'm pretty worried at several of the young players attitudes, and morale. And it starting to seem as if he is losing the senior group now, with his handling of Kellaway and Gaspar. Starting to wonder if Terry will last - hope so, don't kow if i can deal with another coach coming in and starting HE'S plan from scratch

of course we wouldn't, nor would we want to. if other clubs knew of meyers desire to leave to the extent where he had no intention of staying at richmond no matter what, his trade value wld b worth zilch. let at least try and get a 3rd or 4th rounder for him.. can't believe people are suggesting the crows wld give us meesen for him. ruckmen will be SOOOO over priced this offseason and danny wont even be worth meesens bootlace.
 
exactly, he has done nothing but show a few glimpses. i find it funny if true that he just thinks that clubs will be knocking down the door for his signature.

the fact he was a pick 12 only e years ago will still give him some currency, especially to an adelaide side - who will be confident of getting the most out of him

Remember - we got simmonds for fiora - so people still do rate an early pick.

we may swindle a meyer for meesen if meesen wants to leave to go home (similar to simmo )and we have the first PSD selection - it will of course cost us money in the cap, as we will have to pay him extra to make him make such a commitment.

maybe meyer and a third rounder will make it happen? if meesen does want to leave, don't underrate how much that will sap from his value also
 
If this is true...then get lost Danny. Seriously, im sick of trading these sooks...if you dont wanna bleed for the RFC then get lost....you have shown nothing as it is...so good luck back in the city of churches....if you get picked up.....fool
