If you cook for her you should get results...

she is a vegetarian im a good cook but everything i cook contains meat. and a root is in the bag even tho its only our second date we have been over at each others places a fair bit so i know her better than a 2nd date chick if you get what i mean

Also if you take her to the casino, you officially fail at the dating scene and should try craigslist instead.

im not taking her to the casino.....plus im kinda blacklisted there

Living in Melbourne i cant see why there would be a problem in choosing a nice romantic place as theres good night life there. Try living in Perth boringggggggggg.

Yeh thats true, but once you've been to those places its like mehh. And i don't think i would be planning a date for rottnest island or margeret river lol.

yeah probably not rotto but there is some good snorkeling spots there

there is a planetarium in melbourne? where?

At Scienceworks, which is at or near Williamstown, under the West Gate Bridge.

http://museumvictoria.com.au/planetarium/

It's the old pumping station which is some kind of sewerage processing plant. You can do Scienceworks and the planetarium in one go but I think day time only.

I think the planetarium is open at night which makes a good date idea. It's a modern one which is basically a domed movie theatre, sort of like IMAX but lying on a jason recliner.

Queen Vic markets is always a relaxed wander for a brunch date, but I get the impression you're looking for something nighttime.

Dinner at Southbank + walk along the Yarra afterwards was always one of my standards when I lived in Melbourne. Not hugely imaginative but a safe bet, and pretty romantic. Sunset at St Kilda Beach isn't bad, few decent beachfront places for a meal there. Shanghai Village in Chinatown makes the best dumplings going around, IIRC they have a decent vegetarian menu. Planetarium is a quality suggestion, I'd never thought of that.

If you're more up for the wackier/'fun' dates there's always stuff like ice skating at Docklands, Luna Park, etc. Not really my thing though.
