50,000 members pay an extra $280 dent is done.

do we run a debt demolition campaign? Now a business our size can run on some debt, so it doesn’t even need to be 100% eradication.

at3% it’s interest of $420,000 p.a not hideous
Good luck convincing the members to cough up anything, with Hinkley at the helm. How can we be expected to bay anything on top of our Membership when Hinkley's failings are not only continually ignored but he gets rewarded for it with contract extensions ?

After another failed season, simply getting members to resign will be enough of a battle.

Now if the club were to announce Hinkley was going and Clarko was coming in, well then that would be the perfect way to kick of a debt demolition campaign, but that ain.t happening.. The only was you raise money through a debt demolition campaign is to sell hope. We've just been embarrassed in a prelim, lost a highly rated assistant to WCE lost out senior assistant to a senior gig at Carlton and what are we doing about that ?

We are replacing Schoey with a guy who was sacked by the Crows and we are't replacing Voss at all. Next year Hinkley breaks the all time record for most games coached (at a single club) without a flag. What part of that sells hope and leads up to donate $280 on top of membership costs ?

If you want to eradicate the debt, look at Melb who just made 3 years work of sales in a few days going into the GF then winning, imagine for a moment we hadn't completely choked against the Dogs and had beaten Richmond last year. We could be celebrating back to back flags and would probably have cut that debt in half, if not by more than that.

The only way we end up out of debt is success, success brings Members, increased attendance and big sponsors.
We have had more than enough opportunities and Hinkley keeps burning them and Koch is to ignorant to see that.
We've 3 ways to no debt (and from there more control of the club)

1. Win flag(s)
2. Get a better stadium deal
3. A rich benefactor

SA is not stocked with billionaires looking to save a club as an ego exercise, so 3 is out. The SANFL won't give us a better stadium deal until we're out from the AFL's thumb and are free to declare war on them publicly. So back to 1.

The only known, from our 2008-2012 period, plus cost cutting clubs like North, is that trying to save your way to being debt free doesn't work. It seems not content with repeatedly not learning the lessons of extending coaches you shouldn't, then not sacking them soon enough, Now wants to ignore the cluster* of cutting to the bone of our worst era and repeat a bunch of those mistakes as well. Paid plants from the Crows couldn't do a worse job running our club these days.

I would't rule 3 out entirely, i recon it was posted on here not too long ago that we did have people lined up but if the AFL would't give us more control why pay them back ?

As for number 2, not sure when the current deal runs out but recon iv'e seen somewhere that we have a break even number of something like 30k attendance ? Thats roughly 60% which is nuts, as much as i hate to say this, we need to sit-down with the mob from West Lakes and demand better. Unfortunately we don't have many alternatives unless we want to ask the AFL play at Alberton in front of 5k.
