Friends, it's that time of the year again. Where you get to mark an arbitrary judgement about which player you prefer more. If you're new to this sort of thing read the preview and see if you can make any sense of what's going on.

Voting can be conducted in this thread, via Twitter @demonblog or via email to demonblogger@gmail.com.

The Preliminary Round begins on Monday 30 January, heading towards a cataclysmic final battle on February 14 :heartarrow:

Rules
  • The voting criteria for each match-up is your personal business. It need not have anything to do with football if you don't want it to, but if does then the best of British luck to you. We won't ask questions, and nor should anyone else. If anyone tries to vote shame you denounce them on the internet.
  • Voting will be conducted between 0700 and 1900 AEDST unless otherwise noted
  • You must cast a valid vote for every match that day or none of your votes on that day's matches will count (I'll try and remind you where possible by there are no guarantees).
  • You must pick a winner in every match up. No half votes, no "I can't split them". Yes you can, and you must.
  • In the event of a tie both players will advance to the next round, except in the case of the Grand Final where a replay will be held the following day.
  • If a match features three or more players and two or more tie for the most votes they will advance with all other players eliminated.
  • The decision of the Demonbracket Organising Committee is final. Unless somebody takes us to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lucerne.

Nobody has ever had zero. Lowest tally is 1, mostly in 2012 when the electorate was smaller.

Then I decided I shouldn't let Ponsdale get in the way of my sacred right to free speech and I got really determined to make a statement. This is what happens when you discover the General Discussion board and read a few threads - you start posting drivel like this post I'm creating here now.

Give me one good reason why I shouldn't vote for Heretier?

To be fair though, there was a time when I thought Ricky would be the next big thing. Mind you I never got over my fantasy that Sylvia would break out and string some good games together and be AA Captain. Part of me still sees this as a very remote chance. The balcony accident this year hit me pretty hard.
