That's a bit of a bummer, wish him well in his recovery and hopefully he can have a strong pre-season and make an impact early next year.

Looks like Graham will be sidelined by suspension as well, so Browne has a few weeks guaranteed in the team.

Injuries are starting to make an impact on the team. Moore, Grimes, Thursfield and Astbury all out of the team.

Before posters go off half cocked it happened in a contest on Saturday. Don't believe it had anything to do with previous injury as he had been running around pretty freely.

Has been an odd one Derickx. Presumably we plucked him out of the WAFL because he was a standout in that league, with potential to improve even more. From what he's shown so far, either the VFL is a much higher standard than the WAFL, which I think we all know not to be the case, or he has gone backwards significantly. I know he's had a bruised heel which are notoriously slow to heal but that was at the very start of the season. Now with this injury he probably won't get a run at it until next year. Been very disappointing to be honest, particularly with how well he started in the NAB Cup.

I know he's had a bruised heel which are notoriously slow to heal but that was at the very start of the season. Now with this injury he probably won't get a run at it until next year. Been very disappointing to be honest, particularly with how well he started in the NAB Cup.

I can't remember who, but I remember some player talking about bruised heel's when Fev had one.

Said it was a bigger problem than you'd realise, cos it affects how you run, kick, jump etc.

So you end up changing the way you do these fundamentals and it can really effect your performance.

And they take forever to get over.

Agree.

(purely guessing) Either he's been carrying an injury (this or others) for a while and it's affecting his form, or he's having trouble adjusting to Melbourne/life as an AFL player once the initial excitement wore off.
