Do any of you muppets know how to keep cats out of your back yard?

Ours is infested with cats that our feral neighbours have.

Every time i see one out there sitting on our outdoor furniture i throw water (or whatever liquid is handy) at them. Yesterday it was diet coke all over a white cat.

Aside from shooting them with pallet guns, enclosing ourselves in a protective bubble, or feeding them rat poison (and all of these are options i have considered, believe me), does anyone have any REAL, good ideas as to how to get rid of the diseased revolting creatures, and stop them from continually hiding in our yard?

Apparently those black cat statue things with the marble eys are supposed to keep them away.....haven't tried it myself yet, cos I can't seem to find one.

get the hose out and make sure you have one of those power nozzels. When you see a cat, put the hose on full power and pins the cat to a wall, or better still trap it in a corner. I had a neighbours dog that used to prance around my backyard like he owned. Soon sorted that one out. He never came back. In fact I think I demoralised him so much he ran out into traffic.

Nails, stuck through a strip of something you've got handy, then stuck to the top of your fences, pointy sides up obviously.

Or so I've heard.:)

ring up a cattery or whatever u call it (cat version of the lost dogs home) and ask them if they give out cages (its usually free, but you have to put a bond down and when u give the cage back they give u ur $$ back).
once you catch a cat, the option of filling the spa up and throwing the cage in would be good!
but yeh they usually come out and pick the cat up.

this thread made me think about how i havent seen any cats in our yard for a few weeks (well i was away on holidays for one week) but anyway i just came back from visiting a friend and LO AND BEHOLD there is one in our front yard!
fk i hate cats, the fricken owners should bloody well take responsibility for their animals. especially on a busy road like the one i live on. they seem to think its perfectly acceptable to have their cats roaming around at night, fighting and giving everyone else the sh1ts.

Spread orange peel around. Cats dont like orange peel.

If that doesn't work use banana peel so they slip over.
