Is this Didak and Medhurst's first game together? I think many has them down as the same type of player therefore they can't be in the team at the same time. From what I've seen of the game so far the can work together very well.

The only similarities between the two are that they are both forwards. They aren't remotely similar otherwise. Medhurst is an undersized, selfish player who's a great overhead mark for his size, and kicks straight. Didak is one of the best playmakers in the league who looks to pass at every chance. Really couldn't be more different.

I think they are "freak" goalkickers that can both turn the game. And from what I've seen of Medhurst this season he hasn't bee too selfish.

I've actually wanted to see Medhurst play more games for us but he's been in and out all year.

No they played together against Freo. One of the more memorable moments from the game when Medders put his head on the line and affected the steal, quickly dishing off Dids to put us in front! :thumbsu:

Has to be one of the most impressive moments of a player playing not for themselves but for the team and it was certainly not selfish. just short of a one fist, diving smother from Heath Shaw on Anzac day.

ANother similarity is they are both brilliant kicks

I forget their first game together, earlier this year, but it seemed like Medhurst was playing OK except when he passed to Dids and it just seemed to be short or wide or too high each time.

Just my imagination of course, I recall the lovely hard assist Dids got from Medhurst vs Freo, very satisfying moment.

Medhurst is a bit different, I've heard the "short full forward" line and its a fair approximation. Didak is a far superior pass of the ball, and has superior lateral mobility and evasion. Also Medhurst isn't an ankle tapper.

u can almost look at medhurst as a full forward.

he kicks most of his goals from marking on the lead, not crumbing and snapping like davis or didak.

Goalkicking yes, they are both dead eye dicks from set shots, but Medhursts field passing needs some work as Cyclops mentioned. Medhurst has a rare kicking style, the ball goes left to right off the right boot, usually it's the other way around for most right footers (check Daisy for a classic example). Perhaps his style is more suited to goalkicking than passing? Might be something to look at, but you wouldn't want to tinker too much with a proven goalkicking routine, god knows we need all the accurate kicks at goal we can get at this stage!

One is an amazing left footy, the other is an amazing right footer. Imagine them on the flanks, that'd be a site for Pie fans, some accuracy lol
