It was more complicated than it needed to be, I recall.

You get an email with a voucher code. I think if you follow the instructions from there you should be fine. For memory they were:

1. Go to the AFL website and register an account (if you don't already have one, or login if you already do) - https://id.afl.com.au/register
2. Login and select the free trial (this is important)
3. Enter your voucher code (this is also important)
4. ...
5. FOOTY!

Very disappointing that this year, the AFL Live app has disabled the ability to mirror the video onto the TV, so you can only watch on the iPad.

If I had've known this, I might not have taken out the digital add-on.

The club didn't email me the code, I had to phone them for it.

Mine came from noreply@geelongcats.com.au

It didn't come until 3 weeks after I bought the membership. You might need to contact the club if you don't have an email.

The club didn't email me the code, I had to phone them for it.

Thanks guys. Punched noreply@ into my email and I had recieved the email with the voucher. All set up now.

I've never tried to use it, wondering if sharecast or those type of systems on your device would work?

I did read on Whirlpool that someone has released a way of overcoming the mirroring block if you have a jailbroken iPad.

So it looks like I might have to do some research into how to do the jailbreak (if anyone on here knows I'd appreciate any tips!).

I want to say on the main board that there was a bypass using a HDMI cabe out of the phone to a dongle of some sort that needs to be powered and then a HDMi into the TV and it was good to go. not sure of jailbreak or additional software required.

Why there aren't AFL apps for Apple TV, PS3 etc. is beyond me but doesn't surprise me going on the AFL's track record with technology.

I paid by CC for the International membership ( meaning the WAtch AFL overseas live option) not the one thru the club and that is instant.

The digital membership thru the club as the add on is exactly the same ( for international peeps) as the WAtch AFL live one. There is no difference.

AS I had the international one already - I just kept it going.
