A mate of mine has just called me up with an interesting dilemma.

The fella is over his current role/company. he has worked there for 5 or so years(I think). He is in a Sales role. Now a work colleague/friend (they go out for lunch every now and again, he went to her 30th birthday but not like great mates..) has applied for a new role at an external business.
They told him about the role, he looked it up on seek.com and it is as he puts it "his current role but with another company and with much better money and international travel attached with it.."

He asked me if he should apply for it even though his friend has as well? As he is my mate I said yea for sure stuff them, think about number 1, no one else is... But after thinking about it, it raises a few moral questions. But I still say go for it. You can get more "friends"

Whats your take?

It's pretty bad form to apply for it if he found out about it because they told him they were applying.
