If it was my home that was destroyed I'd be smashing people trying to take pictures for their flickr album

Not sure,

On face value, making a profit out of the devastation and tragedy that hit so many people is pretty low. However she is getting owners permission some even seeking her out, not going to sites where lives were lost and bringing in tourist $$. If the locals dont have a problem with it, neither do I. Though I wouldnt go on the tour personally.

Also 3 course meal for $25?? Wonder what the grub is like.

Would it be better if the photographers were just barging in without permission?

Photographers have shown us life in their time for nearly two hundred years, the pictures that these people take will be part of an invaluable resource in the future.

People died in the world wars, in revolutions, famine, drought and other natural disasters many of which have been documented.
