and dees01, i totally understand what you mean... i mean i was to go to A (singluar) collingwood match to see him play, but i dont think i can stand to see him play football for any team other than melbourne...

All this makes me think that all the Melbourne players are getting paid too much. We are paying 100% of the Cap and still struggling to fit them all in. They had better perform.

He also left because they offered him a heck of alot more money, which we didn't have after we gave Woewodin a small fortune in his contract that he didn't deserve. He would have stayed had the price been right, and I would have preferred him to Woey.

It would seem so yes. You would have to question what we are paying the second tier players as well. Neitz, Yze, TJ and White would domnate proceedings at the club money wise, and they deserve everything they get. Woewodin didn't, and therefore he had to be offloaded. Corcoran DID warn of that. Yes, we didn't think it would be Woey, but a few of us here speculated that it might.

Cameron Bruce also re-signed at the end of the season, and I reckon he would be on quite a bit more than his last contract, and again, he deserves it. If you want to look where money is going on players who don't deserve it, look at the second tier. It wouldnt' surprise me if we were still paying too much money for Biz, Vardy and Ellis, as we may have had to take on their contracts from their previous clubs.

Yeah, paying the limit yet still being 2 players short & only finishing 6th!

You are right something doesn't add up here....

3 short if you include Gus, who was never likely to play a game anyway.

G'Day boys and girls!
Due to a server problem (the bloody thing blew up , i have been unable to post my thoughts on the Woey saga (and i know my thoughts are highly valued and respected ):

Chin up, Lads!

Woey was out of contract, did not have a fantastic season and was ripe for trade bait, so therefore he became a product of the AFL 'silly' season.

Although he is a brownlow player and does have a lot to give to the game, he is (as is everybody ) expendable and for the mulah that the club so desperately needs, he had to go.

Getting Heffernan was a bit of a surprise, but i'm not a selector (and the MFC thanks me for that!), but hopefully he'll be the same excellent addition that Vards and Bizzell.

Bring on 2003!
