"After working throughout the weekend to free himself from his freshly minted $27.5 million contract with the Orlando Magic, team officials apparently have stopped trying to change Billy Donovan's mind and allowed him to return to the University of Florida.
The Orlando Sentinel reported on its Web site early Monday morning that the franchise had relented and allowed Donovan to back out of his agreement. Foxsports.com first reported the story of Donovan's desire to return to Florida, where he had won back-to-back NCAA titles. ..."

Looked like the perfect opportunity for Donovan. Wouldn't be surprised if he negotiates a raise with the Gators now.

As a Kings fan, this development sucks donkey **** for us!

Stan Van Gundy is easily the best available coach on the market and he is a VERY strong possibility to land the Kings job. He is the favourite ATM. So soft **** Donovan back out of his newly signed contract before the ink could even dry. All of a sudden Orlando will head hunt Ron Jeremy and Orlando job would be more attractive to him than Sacramento, even though he is very keen to get the Kings job. I just hope that he sticks it up Orlando since they chose unproved college coach over him just a couple of days ago.

If Ron Jeremy takes the Orlando job, Pistons fire Flip and replace him with Porter, we would be picking up the best of the shitty lot

Apparently we will know in the next couple of days where SVG ends up. At this stage, I reckon there would only be about 40% chance that he will choose Sacramento.

Having said that, I think Riley will be piss weak and ask only for a 2nd rounder. Go for the first Riles and that way there is no way Orlando can get SVG since they don't have a first rounder this year and league rules prohibit them from trading first round picks in successive years .

Unfortunately, I still think SVG will coach Orlando and do a fantastic job!
