Did anyone hear turfy on "hungry for sport" yesterday?

Had a fair go at Paul Gardner and i think rightly so and brought up some great points.

The first one was about the interview with mike sheehan from on the couch. He said the interview was weak as water, which it was. Sheehan let gardner dictate the answers and there was no questioning back at some of the answers he gave when some should have been asked.

Paul Gardner likes to tell all in sundry how we are not in financial crisis and how we have made a profit the last 4 years, as turfy said "thats because we have gone to the afl for a hand out the last four years". Which is spot on. Our financial report should not take into account any afl handouts so we get a better idea of where we are at. Teams like colingwood and essendon are miles ahead we know that, but id like to see how much we make compared to teams like the roos and dogs without putting the handouts in our year financial report, as i think would all supporters.

For gardner to say that if your passionate enough you would join the board is rubbish. Paul if you have enough time spare you can join the board!! Some of us work hard for a living we put money into the club and just because we dont sit on the board doesnt make us any less superior to yourself or your "mahogony table buddies". As turfy put it "some of those board members are only there so they can go down to the rooms after the games".

We are in a rebuilding phase on the field. I just hope the president and the board dont have their heads that far burried in the sand not realise that we are in a crisis off the field as well. Like they say with a gambler or an alcohoalic, admitting the problem is the first step to recovery.

Every team has had handouts - we were 5 million in debt, we aren't now. Carlton are 5 million in debt still.

Guessing isn't going to help matters. Much of Melbourne's so called problems are media beat-ups which is giving wrong impressions to supporters. Mabey it is time to start believing those incharg rather than the herald scum and other media whore personalities.

Forgot to mention another thing turfy said which i found very interesting. He said that Kevin Sheedy was put aside from the melbourne job when he went over our list and said we were 18 months behind what essendon is now.

BEFORE YOU JUMP UP AND DOWN, no i dont think kevin sheedy should have got the job even though he would be good for our p.r. But if that is the real reason why we didnt choose him because he told us our list wasnt as good as essendon that is a joke. He has been around football alot longer than any of our clowns on the board and if anyone would know he would.

At least we have made a positive move in appointing McNamee. His knowledge and enthusiasm will better than bean counter or ex-football manager boffin.

People who don't want to watch their team on the back of one or two bad seasons are ____wits anyway. They are the sort that only barrack for the team when they think they might actually win a premiership. You don't see me hiding over two bad losses. Perhaps the supports shouuld do just that, show their support and then maybe the players will rise.

Seriously, do any of you deluded supporters really think the players will care if the supporters, whine, bitch and show no real vocal support.

Perhaps the opinionated soft nellys on this board should grow up and realise the clubs future isn't in the hands of the players of administration.

First of all, i meant major sponor, on-field sucess and over 25000 member at the same time.

Secondly i have an opinion and in my opinion im never wrong just like your not with yours. The fact im concerend means i care. The supporters NOT MEMBERS who dont actually put money into the club like i have for the past ten years can all go and get bent. They are the ones who never buy a membership, turns up when it suits them, and think just becuase we are the oldest team in the comp. means we are going no where and we have heaps of cash.

IM CONCERNED BECAUSE I CARE, get it through your thick head. I wouldn't pay for a membership year after year if i didnt care. The fact i still pay over 400 a year must mean i care because if it came just purely with on-field sucess i would have given up years ago.
